Children while I was fliyng and arguing jellyfishes are living in salt water... but when I land I saw them also several km's upstream on a freshwater river, go figure

Is the river tidal Alex?  Some saltwater may find its way upstream in that instance.

It's called black as nothing lives under a certain depth and it's salty of course  might be not as much as red sea but Yes
