Great shot DA.    Yeah, that is quite the contrast from the boat yard.  

Wont be long before Spring rolls around and they start pulling those boats out and getting them back on the water and in use.

They've not really stopped over the winter,   Ive seen the small boats out quite a few times and even this week the rowers were out.

Those are some hard core boaters to be out in the cold weather that you've had but I guess you just have to make do with the weather as it comes.

Thats the funny thing,  all the big boats come out for the winter and all the little ones get the use,  the big ones would be much warmer.

I think I like this one even better.

Warmer and more comfortable I would think.  No doubt little ones are cheaper to operate.  

The difference is clear. Seems like somebody here were way more systematic than the one with the other shot.

The rules here changed recently,   but up until the change they could use what we call red diesel,   its normal diesel thats dyed and sold without taxes.    It was intended for farmers but anyone with boat, generator etc could use it.   They used to check vehicles on the road for it and bug fine if you got caught.

That's a new one one me. I'm sure the fines were high enough to keep most people from trying that.

I suspect it's the different between the yacht club and the boat yard,   the yacht club wants to look nice to entice customers.

There are always a few who will try to get away with things.  We used to call that "stretching" the law.
