I am happy with the quality and stabilization. I will use it mainly for this.

Really stable. Was that on a chest mount?

You call this "relaxing", LOL? It's more like Need for Speed 6.

I think the camera should point a little higher to see more of what's ahead.

What's that little rotating yellow thingy?

Ah, I see.  It did seem too low a position to be a mount on top of the head (helmet).
Seems like an ideal setup.

It is far from Need for Speed   but the asphalt is still cold and does not have good traction for higher speeds
Tried a new model helmet mount but it's definitely too stuck down, now I've put on another grip with a higher view but the weather is terrible...
The little yellow thing is my faithful friend/passenger, it also works with air conditioning

Very good stabilisation, just though the video looked a little flat. Bike likes to rev & good that the viewer can also see what's behind in the rear view mirrors.
I've recently started to use a chin mount on mine, I take it the mic was in the helmet? If so what's your setup?

You should been chilling like those harleys

And yeah your camera is facing a bit too low there, but not bad tho.

The stabilization on the camera sure is great

As for the relaxing part... not sure if I would consider this relaxing, but something that would be great to experience for the thrills. For some reason, the instant the ride footage started rolling, the song "Def Beat" from Junkie XL started to play in my head, so maybe that says something about the atmosphere

And your little friend is awesome

The mounting question is an interesting one. I think it's not too bad here, having it pointing higher wouldn't have hurted but I would still say the angle was at least adequate.

I ought to investigate a similar thing on mounting, though my activity will be at way more calm pace and I am going to use the Pocket 2 myself. I have signed up for a bicycle trip on our community college and was wondering what would be the optimal mounting solution for it to a) eliminate possible vibrations and instabilities, b) ensure safe enough mount so the Pocket 2 won't fall off or have the gimbal entangled or bumped/stuck to something in the middle of the ride, c) ensure a proper POV and d) minimize the risk of accidents. I do have mounting systems for the bike handlebar and chest mounting, but not sure yet what would work best.

That's possibly not even an Action 3. A stabilized Action 3 doesn't have this kind of footage. And without it, it would be even more jittery.

No it wasn't but my point was that the mounting location being further away from the centre of rotation makes for very poor viewing.
Handlebar mounted usually looks better the more central it is even though handlebars don't normally rotate that much.

I didn't use an extra microphone or camera case, I just snapped it in a hurry, that's why it's stuck so low ;)

In my opinion, mounting the handlebars will do you a perfect job, you can additionally secure it with a strap.

Chin mount is what I use on my helmet and I find it closer to what the driver see than mounting it on top of helmet that would give too high perspective.

I have tried different places to mount the camera. My personal opinion is that the chin mount gives the best feel to the viewer

This summer I will try neck mount so I doesn't need helmet while driving on mountain in 30 km/h with my atv.
Using helmet on slow offroad driving gives me so less durability when it comes to view, sound boost and smelling the nice nature + it weight 1kg or so

I guess the best way to find it out is to try in practice. The weather here is not really suitable for biking yet due to ice and general slippiness (for my bicycle at least as it doesn't have spiked tires), but I will try it out when the season allows it. :-)
