Is it necessary to completely discharge the batteries if you'll be carrying it during an airplane flight (per battery manual instructions) ?

Discharged my batteries (not all the way) and have flown several times with my DJI3 in a Hardshell backpack as carry-on luggage.  Security was a breeze and no one even asked about my DJI3.  This might help but no guarantee of authenticity:   https://www.faa.gov/about/office ... s_and_batteries.pdf

I carried 6 on my last couple flights in my Thinktank backpack.  Guess this is not a priority for TSA.

Interesting that you can carry on Lipo, but cannot check Lipo.

yes its the regs, I expected someone to be curious but no one asked guess they have seen a lot of DJI's
