Ignore those third party "drone law" sites.  They're always always wrong.  Always use the official sites.

They need to be registered before use:

https://uav.caat.or.th/condition.php

Its a messy, convoluted process and nigh on impossible without a work permit or residency visa.

https://www.caat.or.th/wp-conten ... -regulation-eng.pdf

Any drone with a camera needs to be registered and they say it takes up to 15 working days (mine took a lot longer).  Its nigh on impossible to do outside the country as well unless you use an agent or contact.

Once all that is done you can fly up to 90m / 300ft max, 5 miles from airports and not over restricted areas.  Restricted areas include hospitals, police stations, all national parks and so on.

In reality as long as you're not doing it anywhere popular the chances of getting caught are fairly low.  But if caught its expensive.

This group was in Bangkok and had a fly away while filming in the city.

Hi there. Thank you for reaching out. Hope that you could get the best recommendation from our fellow DJI Pilots that currently lived in Thailand or already have experience flying in the said country. You may also want to contact the local aviation authorities in the said country to have a copy of their rules and regulations to fly safely in Thailand. Should you have other inquiries, please don't hesitate to reach us. Thank you for your valued support.

I can say that I was there last year('22) and never flew my drone. I am not a rule breaker. I can say the process is long and a pain because you must be there in person to due the process. It would be amazing if we could do online and just have to show it once we were there. But no, you must file document and wait.

I had talked to a friend who is Thai. She informed me that DJI can helped her get the license quickly. It seems that when you buy a drone from them they facilitate a quick process. When I was there, I would have bought a Mini Pro 3, they didn't have any.

So I don't know how smooth or quick the process is with them. And one other thing that concerned me was the frequencies. I would hope I could legally fly my Thai drone in the US.
