A couple of years ago, another swathe of Green Belt adjacent to the Sett Valley Trail was sold off for housing development.

Things are back-to-front in the UK.  They build the houses, increase the local population to the point where traffic infrastructure and public services are overwhelmed, and only then think about providing adequate resources. Usually years too late.

Almost the same here. They are predicting an increase of 1800 homes.

Yep. Sounds the same.  And to cap it all,  they're planning to remove one of the bus routes that serves the area.  Madness.

It does seem to be slow. Maybe because of rising prices or lack of workers or fights in court...

I think Covid was the initial delay. But they're still at the groundwork stage. Road laying machine was active this morning.

Great shots Mr. B.  Sad to see another Green Belt getting replaced by a housing development.  Sometimes the government planners forget that there is no more land being made and they need to plan carefully all future developments.  Developers don't care because it's more money to stuff their pockets with.  Hug a tree today because it might be gone tomorrow.  

Just another reason why I'm buying an additional 50 acre parcel of land - keep the developers away from it.

Yes, a mixture of oaks and pine trees.  Owner says it has wild turkey and deer on it.  


Good news is it abuts my current land.

Yes, but I'd only do that when the workers are not there ( weekend or public holiday).
I did a flight last year at the beginning of the project, but the weather was miserable and the video wasn't up to much.
