hey guys,
I lost my last drone because the battery didn't show the crash site long enough.
I would now like to stick an Airtag (Apple) on the new drone.
Could it be that the Airtag is causing calibration problems?
Who has an idea from you?

I bought  4 of them for my drones a few months back but havent had a chance to add them yet. I have heard of others using them tho

I suspect that I can't calibrate the compass because of the airtag.

there are other threads on this topic and of course, other drones have utilized an airtag before in the past so it really shouldn't be an issue.  check the other forums as well.

Your crash site can probably be found from the recorded flight data.
Post your flight data and I'll see what it shows.

It has instructions to find the .txt file from your phone or tablet which you can upload to that site
Upload it and it gives you a summary of the flight data.
Post a link to that summary.

Or just post the .txt file

If you have to use one Id velcro it to the back of the battery,  there should be no interference back there.  

I use a VIFLY Beacon - Wireless Buzzer and it doesn't cause issues with the drone compass or IMU.  It has a 100db beeper and a bright flashing LED light.  I tested it in a field on my land and the battery lasted for well over 26 hours when beeping/flashing.

I was able to reach the crash site 10 minutes after the crash... but the drone was already taken by third parties.

I would like to ask you once again to help me with words and deeds
I removed the airtag today.
I have considered all points that I have to consider when calibrating the compass:
- no smartphone in my pocket
- Rotate the drone at least 5 feet above the ground
- no metal objects nearby
- no electric cables etc. p.p.
Again and again it is displayed that the calibration has failed.
A drone technician has demagnetized the drone.
No success.
Disassembled and demagnetized the compass: again without success.
Do you have another idea? Maybe change the compass?
