Hi all
I'm reposting this as I've gotten no reply or tech help at all so far,
I started editing some footage I did in early summer, mainly of fleids and crops and fine textures of that sort.
I was really shocked at how much artifacts the S2 produces on fine textures like the wheat , tree leaves etc. It's practically unusable! It's too bad one cannot upload footage here.
It looks like all the pixels are oversharpened and sizzle , or move around like weird digital grain., and the codec can't deal with such fine texture information. All is in 4k at max resolution, and it's visible both in the D cine log with a LUT and the normal setting. It reminds me of the same issue I had on my pocket 2 before switching back to battery instead of HQ mode.
On top of that, the heavy banding in some of the sky and clouds is unacceptable.
Have a look: ( don't forget to set to HD, the YT compression is heavy as usual )
Oversharpened pixels:
Banding:
Is there any solution around? Please don't just ask me if I did an update or had an accident, I'd really appreciate some real technical help here.
Thanks!
If you would share the 4K raw files, it would be easier to see what you see.
Youtube is not good for these kind of questions.
Just upload some on a file sharing service and post here.
