Apparently they have not fixed this bug so far. I reported this some years ago.
Every now and then, I get a very high page number (not something I did for sure)

I had that occur several time one day but I noticed others were having glitches and double posts also.  I just got a bit miffed when they took points off because it wasn't something I controlled.  Anyway, water under the bridge so to speak.l

I think they only remove the duplicates.

It sure is.  Many, many complaints about it but so far elected officials and the FCC have not done anything about it.

The largest ISPs have a well paid and strong lobbying group and seem to be able to continue to get around the throttling issue.
