Nicely captured.    

A great activity to follow.  Still using the Phantom?

Nice footage and interesting sport.  

The footage was a bit jumpy. (not so smooth movements),
I would try to only keep the smooth parts to make the viewing experience more pleasing

i should yeah, had no visibility to the drone and loosing connection, that might be the reason

A neighbour of mine has had his since 2015 and it still works well.  I sold mine a couple of years ago in favour of the smaller Mavics.

Depends where I am.  In the town, it can be as little as 300m, but in open spaces, much more than that.
If I were to do a range test, I would expect to achieve around 1.5 Kms

The Phantom could achieve 5Kms before auto RTS kicked in and brought it home

A recent range test from an elevated vantage point, over mixed rural and urban terrain, achieved 3Kms before RTH for remaining battery kicked in.  Drone returned with 18% remaining.
