Hi,
previously I could copy my recorded video data with fast transfer speeds like 300 MB/s.

Suddenly I can only copy data with 40 MB/s. I already tried multiple things like formatting etc.

Any idea what's going on with my SSD?

The Ronin 4D does not complain and seems to not have any trouble writing 6k footage.

Thanks for any suggestions or help in advance.

You should try to test it in a different computer, since USB transfers in windows depends on multiple factors.  Sometimes USB motherboard hubs get updated in the background and they break with a windows update.
So best way to check is to download Aja or Blackmagic drive speed tests and check the drive in a different computer to see if the problem reproduces.

Thanks for the reply! I'll give it a try. Cheers

So I tested as suggested. The speed is everywhere the same.

I noticed the drive is formatted in exFAT. Does this have any impact on transfer speed?

I also checked my bios, all seems up to date and normal settings.

So I just made a new test: I formatted the drive in Windows 10 to NTFS with default allocation settings. Then I tested copying a file: new speed 2 GB/s.

Maybe its a firmware issue with the latest DJI Ronin 4D update?

I never had any problems before

I did another couple of tests and narrowed it down to one thing.

Formatting the drive to exFAT in Windows allows me to copy files at full speed.
However, the camera does not like the partition created by windows and forces me to make the formatting in the R4D.

Once I format my drives in R4D, the camera is happy but the issue is back of slow copy speeds on any other device.
I've tested it on 2 different computers + 1 mobile device with the same results on each machine.
I've also tried another USB external hard drive instead of the DJI Pro SSD with the same issues.

It looks like the exFAT format of DJI is somehow broken.

Then I thought, maybe its only in the current firmware. So I downgraded to the oldest version, sadly same issue here.

I'm so confused, since I only have this issue very recently.

Make DJI replace the drive.

So I purchased a second drive, since having one drive alone isn't enough.

The second drive now has the same problem...

As I said, the drives are fine. It's the DJI exFAT format that seems corrupted.

@DJI can someone please take this bug report serious? Not happy at the moment with the service

Ditto, 40 MB/sec at hours of transfer for minutes of recording is not acceptable, please provide a workaround or fix asap.

Make sure you're using the right type of cable. Some USB-C cables are thunderbolt which when plugged in to a normal USB-C connector actually run really slowly. Make sure it's not just a USB-C cable designed for charging. Again will run really slowly. Getting the right USB 3.1 not just 3 makes a massive difference.

I already tried different cables.

As I said in post #6: I tested an independet exFAT format (done via EaseUS Partition Master) and the same SSD with the same cable did normal speeds.

I finally figured out what is causing the slow ProSSD performance:
Windows Storage Raids can cause slow writes on Windows's site
