During the early Industrial revolution, this area by the canal basin at Marple, was a hive of industry.

Impressive shot of that old foundry Mr. B.    I'm guessing that is from the 18th century.

Interesting read.  Also, watched the YT video showing a flythrough of 3D laser scan of the interior.  Seems like it was quite the place back in the day.  Really nice that they got the funds to restore and save the kilns.

It is really surprising that there isn't a bigger sign.  Maybe the locals aren't trying to draw in tourists.
