Actually I have a lot to rain about - me trusty old windows 7 file explorer stopped working so I had to FORK out for a new fangled windows 11 machine and have lost lots

As for as "a pox on mi crow soft" I have no idea what that is.  Ran it through 4 different translators and got zero results.  

I am so fed up with rain here.  but I bet your rain is warmer.

Just thinking - I have never seen a single salamander, neither slithery nor slimy, though I have seen numerous sensuously hissing snakes of many sizes.

Once I was in Upington (a rather hot and dry place) staying at a place with a number of chalets clustered around a large artificial pool. It must have been fertile Friday 'cause all the frogs in creation were crooning and croaking creating a cacophonous din, and you had to walk like an Egyptian, toading the line lest you flatten a freaked-out frog.

Actually Dave, It is the start of winter here, our rainy season.

But being beside the seaside (indian ocean with warm current from India) it does not get too cold here thus the rain is bearable, to a degree..

I'll have you know, Sir, that my aged laptop still looks like new (well, almost, except for the gray beard) and was working fine one day and then after an update from the my-crow-soft crapperation the windows explorer suddenly stopped working and nothing I tried would get it to work again. I even tried resurrecting my old DOS knowledge, was able to copy my old files onto an external drive, but explorer refuses to work and keeps re-starting.
I am considering reformatting and loading linux or something.... will see.

Your translators will be hard pressed to to decipher mi cro soft. A pox on them money grabbers, now everything is advertising - vampires I tell you.

But I'll tell you what
I have a good second hand hippocrocaduck - like new, only had one owner - a little old lady, who sadly disappeared during the night and has never been seen again, although some say they can hear her calling when the  hippocrockaduck belches.
You can be the proud owner for just .10p - admittedly it is not cheep but it is wonderful with noisy obnoxious neighbors who don't like drones.

lol. An old work colleague had to go to Port Elizabeth some years ago for a job,  and they took him to see elephants and giraffes just outside of the town.   I seem to recall they dont use that name for the town now though.

When I want to dabble in a non-Windows OS I have Linux distro Lubuntu on my older PC.  Lubuntu is nice because it can use the Ubuntu repositories.

Absolutely. It was totally usable.

It was a dark and stormy night, as our friend Snoopy would type :-) Did see the rain though, hope the weather there will be eventually nicer! Though not to the extent of a drought.
