This is the big problem to this RC ,DJI can you please come out and say anything about this .?? Ok to me as A drones Expert i got a lot of rc to Fix to this Problem in charging also in not power on. I will send a picture to show how many of this

What is it, these symptoms mean the board is toast or is it fixable?

I am experiencing the same issue.  Done a firmware update yesterday and today I had the drone in the air for 4 minutes and the controller had 4 green light and the app showed no RC connection.  No lights on now and will not charge either the charger I always used.

My yesterday newly bought DJI Air 3 Fly More Combo with DJI RC 2 has exactly the same problem. I used the RC for setup/ activation/ firmware update… everything looks fine until now I see battery is at 30% down and I can not charge it and usb-connector gets terrible hot when plugged in..  

My first DJI product ever and +1400€... what a mess... I was actually hoping that I could take a few nice photos during my vacation and now before I could even use it, it going back... from joy to absolute frustration.

I face the same problem today,my RC suddenly turn off & after that my dji mini 2 drone fly off without control & crash in some bushes. Unfortunately my drone warranty already expired…

DJI RC 2 only supports PD3.0 fast charging protocol and up to 9V/3A（27W） charging.
If it is DJI RC2, would you please change a charger and  try again?

Hi, it’s the DJI RC2 that makes trouble. I try different cable and charger, but nothing was working (but the usb port was getting suspicious hot). (aircraft battery loading works fine)

Also the remote was not recognized when plugged in to a windows pc (device manager say something like “error on resetting usb port”)

I also try to use the “power bank functionality of the dji battery pack/charger”, but even there the rc is not recognized.

I now send it back to amazon for a repair request… I hope this is not a general problem/ production issiue?

Thank you for your update. You may test again when you get the replacement DJI RC2 back.

Hello, I had the same problem after an update today here on my mini 3 pro, the control had 3 bars of charge and out of nowhere it didn't turn on anymore, the drone no longer has a warranty and I'm in Brazil, what can DJI do for me? Clearly this was an error caused by the firmware update as already reported by other users, I have been using the DJI drones since 2020 and I have never had problems like this, I am very disappointed and a new controller is extremely expensive in my country... I would like support from DJI to fix this problem!

I'm having the same trouble with my DJI Mini2 SE. I've checked RCN battery before taking a flight (after few weeks of not using) and shows a full bar. But after having a flight for few minutes and safely landed the drone, the RCN turned-off and won't turn on again.

I've charged it but it didn't switched on. Tried using other charger, but also doesn't work. This is so frustrating!

Hi I’m having the exact same problem with my DJI mini 2 controller of not charging please check it out I have done the said steps in the forum. Read the recommendations straps and done accordingly but I guess I am one of those that has the bad batteries of the controllers. Hoping you could check my controller out and replace it if necessary.

If the controller still won't charge and will not turn on, If your remote controller is still within the warranty period, we recommend sending it in for proper diagnostics. I have also faced a problem with my RC. Its not about its battery life but about the disconnections with my phone. In fact since i got the iphone 15 i managed to conduct one flight and from the next one i cant get my phone connected to the RC. The phone seems to be charging and discharging every 2 seconds without a slight connection to my mini (as if the RC was never there)
anyway i have noticed that many users have experienced this issue as well but so far i dont know any resolvement...

Flew my drone this morning after the most recent updates and 15 minutes in my RC died. RC had been charged to 100% prior to flight and now it won't turn back on when plugged in. I've used the DJI cable and another cable to test and i'm not seeing any life from the RC. Judging by the amount of people on this page saying the same thing, either a software update is bricking these RCs or there is a larger motherboard issue here. Can DJI please tell me what my next steps are.

I found a fix. Apply heat to the back of the controller using a hair dryer for about 3 mins, then try plugging it in.
It worked for me and started charging again.

Hi. sorry about the trouble. May I please know what remote are you using? It is better if you can post a photo or a video of the operation. Please make sure the charging cable is plugged in tightly, and try plugging it in again. Check the LED on the remote controller and confirm if it is in the charging state. If yes, please try charging for 2 hours to see if the power increases. If it still cannot charge, it is recommended to replace the charger and charging cable. Please keep us posted. Have a nice day.

Qué pasó con la ultima actualización del RC, me paso que se apagó el control RC estando en pleno vuelo a escasos 3 m de distancia y a 1 m de altura, eso fue el 29 o 39 de dic y hasta la fecha NO lo puedo volver a encender, NO carga, NO hace nada, está literalmente muerto.

I see a trend here. Same thing happened to me. I was going to sell my mini 2 and upgrade to the mini 4. Had my 4 ordered and was just updating everything on my mini 2. The update didn't even apply to me, it was something to do with support for a Huawai phone or something. None the less, installed the updates and after the RCN1 controller would no longer charge, lights flash up to 2 bars and that is it, left it plugged in for over 8 hours. Now I removed my mini 2 from the sale forums and cancelled my mini 4 order as I was going to use the money from my mini 2 sale to help with the purchase.

I am having the exact same problems. Controller was at 100% last time I used it, I come back to it a few days later and it won’t turn on, and I have tried multiple charging cables/sources. At what point will DJI admit there is a manufacturers defect!?

There are 3 forums all with over 5 pages talking about this exact issue, most of them over the past 2 weeks. Dji kindly, I need answers other than my charging block because clearly it is not that.

Hi I have the same issue.  After firmware upgrade my rc won’t start or charge although I know that it was fully charge while updating the firmware. Please help me. I am from India and my drone is out of warranty.

Updated firmware on my controller and it died after charging as well. Very sad experience with DJI products. And looks like the company doesn't take care about it. I tried to request repair via application, but there is no my country in the list, but I bought the drone in official shop.

I'm in Thailand. And I bought this drone in Thailand.

Happened to me just now. I am aware of the trend which seemed to be product defect or hardware issue like a ticking timebomb waiting to explode. Inquired about the repair and price of 2nd hand RC N1 here in Malaysia and this is what I got:

2nd hand RCN1: RM300 with 1 month warranty
Diagnosis fee: RM150
Cost of repair (TBA after diagnosis)

I am still asking for the price of new controller.

There seemed to be inherent design flaws for this type of controller which DJI needs to address.

Yesterday my drone fell down the sea and was fill with water. I took it and put it on the rice for 15 hours and after that i take it and warm it with hair dryer after that i put the battery but it won’t on so i put it on charger and the lights were on but the camera was stuck now even the lights weren’t on.
