A few minutes' birdwatching on the Sett Valley Trail this morning.  The Action 2 did not faze the birds in the slightest.

Who could resist such a feast? Love the squirrel in the background!

Thanks Depp. The squirrel would only come to the ground to pick up what the birds had flicked off the bench.

Nicely captured Mr. B.    For the most part all those birds were pretty skittish.  You'd think they would appreciate the feast you provided and hang around longer.

It's a popular spot for bird-watchers, and the birds seem to have us humans well trained.

Definitely was a nice place for a short rest along the walk and take advantage of the show the birds put on.

Now that's a great way to use the camera and a nice subject Also liked the other guest star animals such as the doggy and the squirrel

It's sometimes not easy to capture them on video even intentionally. I remember attempting to record a squirrel that often tended to have a drink of water from the planter of our parent's balcony last year. However, every time the little rascal did show up, I never had the Pocket 2 with me, and the couple of times I did have it with me, it didn't turn around. Will have to see if I have better luck this year...

These birds seem quite used to having people feed them at this bench on the trail.  We were stood only about 5 metres away, behind a bush. But we could see them between the branches. I just placed the Action 2 on the bench near the pile of seeds.

I was pleased at how well it worked.
There's a heron which fishes in the river near here, from time to time. It would be great to capture that with the Action 2.   I got some SLOMO footage of it with the Pocket 2  in december '21

We were delighted to spend a few minutes  bird-watching, after the disappointment of the no-bluebells wood.  Robins are the boldest of birds, I'm sure you know. But he was intimidated by the nuthatch, which was the most active of the several species that came to the bench.  The squirrel had to make do with the leavings on the ground

I think thats got some scope for future experiments.       And what a busy spot too.

There's a bird table in a corner of the garden here. But anytime stuff is put out it gets mobbed by Jackdaws magpies and the squirrels. The tiny birds don't get a look-in.

Its the starlings for us that cause the issues,  we just got a new fat feeder that is stalking proof and it seems to work but sadly the smaller birds its for dont seem that keen on it either but they are slowly taking to it.

The jackdaws are the real nuisance here. They mob everything else out of the area. And they really don't like my drones. Advantage is, you can't hear the drone for the din they make.

We had a pair of jackdaws for years and then one day they were gone.     Luckily they weren't really a nuisance.

There are so many of them roosting in the Torrs that they're almost a menace.

One flight this morning with the M2Z. Quite misty though. Nothing of particular interest. A couple of crows circled the drone when it was landing. But neither appeared in shot.

I only flew half a battery this morning,  the wind was up and the mist made it fairly dreary in places,    I snapped a shot of a boat for AIS and one of the castle which will be scrapped as its just dull.
