Front Touchscreen blackout

Front touchscreen is  blackout although the main camera module recognize the battery and SD card. I just got my Action 2 yesterday and both screens were working fine at first. Went through firmware update to the latest. When I tried today, my front touchscreen sometime turn on itself but mostly black screen. Not sure if it is related to the firmware update or the module is defective. I have reset it to factory setting several times. Any suggestion?

It is not related to the app. The front screen module stay black when I turned on the unit by pressing the power button either on the camera or the screen module. One odd situation is that sometimes the screen did turn on when I turned it off and on many times. But it may stay black again next time. That behavior is controlled in the settings - it's called "Scrn off when locked" (which is not a very helpful name for the option).
