Just purchased a Phantom 3 Pro and I have an old 2012 Nexus 7 and when I tried to install the DJI Go app it said it was not compatiable with my device.  This was fustrating as I don't really use the Nexus 7 much other than with my DSLR and I thought it would be excellent as my dedicted tablet for the Phantom.  So I started to investigate...

To my delight I discovered it can be done and I have now done it and it works perfectly!  The method I used it specific to the Nexus but the concept should be applicable to any Android device.

In summary, you need to root your tablet so you can get superuser permissions.  One this is done you install an app called Market Helper and this allows you to spoof your device into something that Google Play thinks is compatiable.  In my case I made my Nexus 7 appear to be a Nivdia Shield.

Went to Google Play and searched for DJI Go and now it would allow me to install it.

If anyone wants to research it futher here are the pages I followed.
