Hi all

I know how the Emergency Propeller Stop on the Mini 3 works, by setting the control sticks down and outwards.

But what is the different setting function? There is a choice of 'Anytime (Use With Caution)' and 'Emergency Only'. What is the difference?

Thanks
Corsairoz

Thanks, Yes, I've read the bit in the manual, see below.

So is this saying that:
Option 1 Anytime (Use with Caution) - The user can stop the motors at any time.
Option 2. Emergency Only - The drone itself shuts down the motors in emergency, the user has no ability to stop in flight.

If so, it's not at all clear from the text when it refers to 'you' in the Emergency only option.

Thanks

Hi,

#2 If drone is in an emergency than user can by applying CSC shut down the motors. BUT only if the drone knows  itself that is in a emergency!  CSC in a normal will make the drone spiralling down.

Don't both work regardless but one takes longer than the other to initiate?
i.e. a few seconds for #2 whereas #1 is pretty much instant, or is it #1 that takes a few seconds?

nope  #2 CSC in normal flight situations will not stop the motors, not.
Just spiralling down from any height as long as you keep the sticks in CSC

You are correct.
DJI has never explained what constitutes an emergency, how the drone can tell and when the drone will and won't shut down.
Not knowing what is an emergency makes it impossible to know what setting might be appropriate.

Hi, Corsairoz. Thank you for reaching out. “Emergency Only” indicates that the motors can only be stopped mid-flight in case of an emergency, such as a collision, a motor stalling, the aircraft rolling in the air, or the aircraft being out of control and ascending or descending quickly. “Anytime” indicates that the motors can be stopped mid-flight anytime once the user performs a combination stick command (CSC).
