Does anyone know if DJI have created a hard case for the Mavic 3 Pro? It doesn't fit into the shape of the Mavic 3 cutouts, so it's time for a new box.

Happy to buy from non-DJI sources.

Peli are fantastic and I’ve used their cases for decades. The problem is they rarely create ones with a foam cutout.

For those also looking, the last decent case I got with a foam cutout was from Lykus. They sell hard cases for under $100. I have sent them a message about this model.

But that's the beauty of the pelican cases... You get the right size and then only remove the foam (that it is pre cut in small cubes anyway) to what ever shape and or size you need... Much, much better solution as it allows you to completely customise the content and location of the item you intend to protect...

Simply the best...

I use Nanuk cases for all my drones.  I've found them to be well made of quality material and very durable.  The Nanuk 925 case will soon be available with a custom foam for the new DJI Mavic 3 Pro.

Well, it looks like Lykus does use the same Pelican technique with foam cubes...

I’ve used plenty of Peli’s pick n pluck inserts. It is nowhere near as good as you’re making it out to be. I’ll go as far as to say it’s a terrible product.

They last about 10 inserts before they start failing. Then the foam bits start falling out and go everywhere. After a while the ones which don’t fall out, but do get worn out start to crumble and leave a dusty residue which gets into the drone and motors and needs cleaning out. You get one chance to make the shape and it never quite fits the odd shape of a drone.

I can assure you that the day you buy a case with a purpose made foam cutout, you will never go back to using pick n pluck.

The cases they sell for the Mavic series are all cutout hard foam.

for the pic and pluk, you'll need a couple cans of plastidip.  not ideal but nice if you want to use several bright colors.

I have always been a fan of the GPC Professional cases.  They now have a Mavic 3 Pro case, and I have mine ordered.  They are a good company, and the cases are sexy.

That's because you've not used Pick n Plug for a drone. I'm sure it's good for your use, but I promise that it isn't for drones. Only takes a dozen removals and insertions before it starts to fall to pieces. Precision cut foam will handle thousands of cycles and still look new. See my video above and you'll see the difference in quality.

I can see the difference in convenience if you have those exact parts with so many different corners and sharp edges, not quality as they seem to be made by the same factory... (both companies are from the US). For my drones and my use, I had to go for the soft backpack...

Do Lykus sell only the new foam insert?

Sexy? Really??? A plastic box does turn you on???

Please don't answer that....

@Burt37 - no, it doesn't turn me on.  It's a way of saying it is a good looking case.  I'm not gonna do something unwarranted to the case....

Hi, CloudVisual. Thanks for reaching out and for your interest in DJI Products. DJI has not released such a product as of posting. The Mavic 3 Protector case is not compatible with it. We're sorry for the inconvenience. We will record your request and forward them to our designated team for consideration. In the meantime, we hope you can get the best recommendations from your co-pilots here. Have a nice day.

I use soft backpacks for a lot of my work, but sometimes you're on a job where the drone isn't going to come out the bag in one piece if it's not in something rigid.

I don't know what inserts they sell, I just bought one of their cases with the precut foam and it was very cheap. To get foam inserts custom cut can cost a lot, so it's good when these companies make these for such a specialist and small market.

Please do give it a shot at cutout foam next time you need something for a case, you'll be really impressed.

That makes the pick n pluck somewhat better, but I can't help but see how fragile it is along the thin edge when he inserts something in at the end. I've had so many of these break and they end up getting held together with toothpicks.

Pelican do make the Trekpak case divider set, which has worked well for me in the past. Not cheap, but it's rigid and withstands a lot of beating. https://www.peli.com/eu/en/discover/trekpak/

Could be a possibility for sure.  the Nanuk cases are a tad expensive but I use them on all my drones and pistols.  They are really well made, travel nicely and are waterproof.  I tried GPC previously but just prefer this brand a lot more.

Is the only difference just the height? If the width and length is exactly the same....maybe some cases that have extra space for height can still work. I have Symik hard case, perfect for Mavic 3 but also has plenty of room below to remove foam and get even more headspace above. Just thinking....

Ive looked at the Nanuk cases for my mav3  they are kind of pricey but look well made almost bought one on amazon for $99 . But that convertible carry bag i got with the mav3  flymore combo turns into a backpack and offering more storage, that allows me to fit the mini2 bag in the m3 convertible bag , so IMO that convertible bag that came with the mav3 flymore combo is working out for me really good . the reason I like the backpack is because when I go hiking or use my mountain bike or ATV to travel the mountain & horse trails here i can carry both drones. that helps make the logistics easier carrying multiple drones, which when hiking is always nice to have a spare drone option.

DJI makes such a great case for the M3E. I don't understand why they don't make/sell this exact form factor for all Mavic 3's.

Nanuk are the best imo. Have had them for most of my drones. They are usually larger dimensionally than GPC or other cases but the drone and accessories sit lower in the foam and it's less of a snug fit which I prefer. Just have to get one when they are on sale.

I have a Symik case from Amazon for my mini 3 and although it has a couple of neat features it definitely feels a lot cheaper than the GPC, Nanuks and I wouldn't recommend them unless you're looking for a budget case.

The Mavic 3 case from GPC I already have can fit the M3 Pro just without the gimbal bra. I'm sure they will come out with a M3 Pro specific  insert only option for those with the shell already.

Simply the best...

Yes, I used a Peli case for my Mavic, it makes it a lot easier when on set, travelling, and the overall protection. Cutting the foam takes a little thought, but worth it.
