Dear all,

I am glad to be a new member of this wonderful community.
Just today I've received my dji mini 3 (combo) and I am so excited with it.
Before heading to the skies, I wanted to make sure that everything is working ok.
Since this is my 1st drone ever.
I've activated my care refresh program.
I did firmware update the batteries and the aircraft via the dji app.

Moreover i've updated the RC-N1 controller with the DJI Assistant 2 (Consumer Drones Series).

BUT

that software can't detect the aircraft itself no matter what i did.
I have tried to reinstall it with no success.
Run it as admin didn't fix this either.
I have tried 3 different usb cables, usb a->type & type c->type c (2 different ones including the one that came with the drone). The pc was detecting it as a storage device and nothing more.
I've downloaded the software from here https://www.dji.com/gr/mini-3/downloads?startPoint=0 .
I've cheked the pc device manager, but couldn't see the device. I was just seeing it as a storage device with the drive letter only.
I've tried to manually update the drivers but the system mentioned that i have the latest ones.

Can you please assist me?
I'm using windows 11 pro, with admin rights on.
Thank you in advance.

"pc was detecting it as a storage device and nothing more."

If you don't turn the drone on, that's what normally does...

Really sorry I forgot to mention it.
The drone is on of course.

Any other action that I need to take?

This is what I do... PC on, run DJI Assistant 2, it then asks me to plugin the drone or the radio, then once window open the new device (as in the USB device has been detected), I turn the drone on and the Assistant does its job..

Make sure you use a USB data cable and not just a USB power cable (using the OEM DJI black short cable is the safest bet)..

That should be it...

Nope! It doesn't do it .
Actually if i connect the drone to the pc while it is off, it's just charging, can't be detected at all by the pc and  i can't power it up.
(as mentioned on the initial post, i do used the cable that came with it plus some others that i got)
This shouldn't be that difficult procedure....Thx for trying to assist me. Any other sollution?

Sorry I got it mixed up... Plug in the drone then I turned it on and both window and the Assistant do recognise the device...

The last thing I can think of is to check the USB plug for possible dust in it...

You are right, it shouldn't be this complicated... Hopefully DJI will read here and get in touch with you soon...

I did it!
Just writing down what I did.
Once I powered up the drone immediately connected to the PC, before the check up ended and that was it! It got detected!
(Plus I saw that there was a firmware update for it, dunno what firmware update I did via the app on the tablet)

Just saw your message.
No worries at all.
I just "fixed" it!
Powering up the drone and then connected immediately to the PC before the check up ended, did the job! It got detected by that action! All good now!

Thank you for all of your replies <3 .

Even easier, plug in the drone, start Assistant, THEN turn the drone on.
