No doubt about extremely low visibility in that fog.  Hopefully, that burned off before too long.

It did burn off and the result was full sun by about 4pm.

It does cause my BBQ area an issue as it faces west and you end up staring into the sun,   last year I have a gazebo setup but I lost that (literally) to the wind,   had to go and collect some of the parts from the neighbours.    This year I have a new cast iron stand and umbrella Im testing out.   I just restored the cast iron stand and 3d printed new feet for it.

Staring into the sun while trying to BBQ is never fun.  Hopefully, your new umbrella configuration will preclude sun issues.

Ive tested it once already and after making some adjustments to the height it worked,   time will tell as the sun moves around as the year progresses.

Sounds like it is working just fine at this time.  I guess using an umbrella means you can put it away on windy days and only put it out when needed.  Speaking of BBQ I just picked up some nice juicy rib eyes that I plan on marinating and put them on the grill tomorrow night. I came across a new beer based marinate that I want to try so figured why not on some nice rib eyes.

That new marinade turned out quite nice.  In my opinion this recipe helped to break down the meat and make it more tender.

Beer Marinade for Ribs Overnight

Ingredients:

1 can or bottle of beer
1/4 cup onion juice
1/4 cup apple juice
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 tablespoon pepper
1 tablespoon paprika
1 tablespoon dry mustard
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper

I whisked it all together in a large bowl and then put the mixture and meat into a resealable bag and left it in the refrigerator overnight (actually about 22 hours before I cooked it).

I used pork ribs.  I find that they are typically leaner than beef ribs.  Pork ribs are smaller and easier to eat with one hand.

Brilliant,  they are easily found here all year round,   Last night we fired up the frill and did a few chicken souvlaki and a little greek salad,   Although SHMBOd leaves all the best bits in the greek salad.

I see that living in Florida has some benefits.    We had a lovely day yesterday except for the wind,  it was a sold 35mph all day.   Luckily I took the M2P and even that was complaining frequently.

Rained all day here yesterday.  Weather guessers predicting same for today and possibly tomorrow.  It's rained enough where the water is puddling and not soaking into the ground as quick.  However, it was very useful for my pond as it raised the water level there appreciably.

I bet they will.  All that rain brought the water level nearly to the point where the run-off pipe would need to kick in.  Hopefully, the weather is clear this weekend.  School is out for the year as of this Friday and the youngest grandson can't wait to go fishing in the new pond.

They are off until school starts again August 10th.  The school year is really only 9.5 months so I guess we really should use call it the school term.

Years back when I was in school we started the day after Labor day which was the first Monday in September and went through second week of June.  Not sure how the school term has shifted to what it is now.
