It's a pretty steep learning curve but worth it. If you're below 50 you can do it ;-)

I'd get Velocidrone (around 18 Euros) and practice with the DJI remote 2 (grey). The other way is to take the Avata to maybe 30 or 50 m height and switch to manual. If things get dicey just switch back to S.
