No doubt that is a good technique to master.  Sure will make it easier than trying to accomplish that all manually.  

How about the rumors yesterday on the Air 3 for June/July timeframe?  I know unless it is C1 probably will not be a big seller in the UK but seems like it will be a nice upgrade to the Air 2S.

C1 doesn't help here,  it's all down to the weight now.   But I do wonder how many people are buying these products and not knowing or ignoring those rules.

That's right you had told  me once before it was all about the weight.  None of the retailers here have any warnings or signs about drone rules or registration requirements as they just want to sell drones and  make money.  It's all falls back on the buyer and the Latin phrase Caveat Emptor (buyer beware).  

My Manager friend at BB told me that profit margins are higher on drones above 249G and they all require registration with the FAA whereas the under 249G do not require registration unless used commercially.  So in a way it behooves the retailers to not publicize the drone rules.

Not sure if you get this,  but new drones here get a leaflet with a link to the CAA to understand the rules and register.

No leaflet provided here.  After somebody gets caught flying a non-registered drone and says "I didn't know the rules" usually gets the retort "ignorance of the law is no excuse".  I've heard a judge say that a time or two doing minor court trials.  I think we fail the general public by not being more forthcoming about some requirements.

Provide leaflets and education on the subject id the responsible way to do it.

Sorry about the abuse you are getting on your leaflet from some of my fellow countrymen.  Just saying call the cops on them is a problem as law enforcement officers have enough to do already and most have no idea of the FAA drone laws so they get put in some really bad situations.  I've run across a Karen when flying near the gokart field while getting ready to video my grandson during an upcoming race.  I tried to be polite and held my tongue but when she said here husband worked for the FBI and he would be coming to get me I had enough of her mouth.  I watched and got the license plate number off her car as she drove off.  I got in touch with a buddy of mine in law enforcement and he contacted the FBI husband who then contacted me via phone to apologize for his wife's behavior.  It was nice to know that he was well versed in the FAA drone rules and in fact owns and flies a Skdydio 2+ as his time permits.   

I thought the PDF handout you sent me was quite well written so not sure what triggers some peoples outrage.

Luckily I do really have any problems,  only once did a women scream at me for flying over the sea where some seals were swimming.   But the last thing I want to do is waste the polices time.,   but if they call them I will make sure they are all educated.

That's a solid plan DA.  Now that more and more law enforcement agencies are using drones they are conducting training for not only the pilots but the patrolmen so they know the basic rules.  

About 3 weeks back there was a huge issue of a Home Owners Association (HOA) complaining about people flying drones over their houses.  The HOA covenants state not drone flying within the community.  Fortunately, the Patrol Sargent that responded knew the laws and told them as long as the drone pilot took off and landed outside the community it was legal to do.  He had to explain that the airspace above the houses was regulated by the FAA and not the HOA.  News media reported the HOA staff were still not happy with that answer.

I seem to recall seeing a YouTube video where there was a standoff between drone pilot and HOA but the police knew the rules eventually.

That's interesting.  At least the police learned the rules and didn't penalize the drone pilot.

It seems just like UPS the police and the rules are light roulette.    Yes that means that UPS collected and did nothing with it for 24 hours.

Im just so disappointed in them,   the collected early yesterday from the drop off and then did nothing with it.   I was really hoping it would arrive today and then I might find out this week what they would do.    Oh well at least my new dealt blower has been delivered.

I feel your frustration with UPS.  Some of the antics they pull are just unbelievable.
