It doesn't require a mobile connection. A mobile *device* running DJI FLY, yes...a connection to the internet, no.
I can't really tell if your complaint is with RID in general or just that you have to tether the Goggles 2 to a device to fly the Avata? But neither RID nor the Avata + Goggles 2 require a mobile internet connection to fly, and no other RID-enabled drones from DJI require a mobile internet connection.
As to the googles 2, not the integra, it does require a connection to a mobile device to obtain location/gps, else you are unable to take off. I was going to hike in the mountains and take my mavic 4 pro drone there to use with the googles 2 and motion controller, but unsure whether it would work if i wouldn't have cellular service there. What do you think? |
