Curious to see that old artefact. Does the railroad take a different path now, or was it redundant already? And is the railbed now a path for walkers, as is often the case here in the UK?

Hi Bleriot53, yes it is just a walking path now but almost all the traffic on it is cattle and the wild critters out there. This was the original rail grade and was in use from the 1860's intil around 1904 when the new line was built across the lake. This is the northernmost shore of the lake and the new rail line was built right across the lake for a distant of 12 miles in 1904 for a straight shot to Ogden,Ut. The new line also had a station on it out in the lake believe it or not! Then in the 1950's new tracks were laid next to the 1904 line due to its deterioration.
