Tall ship ( Phoenix )
The Phoenix is a ship built by Hjorne & Jakobsen at Frederikshavn, Denmark in 1929, originally as an Evangelical Mission Schooner.
During 1991 she was converted to the 15th century Caravel Santa Maria for Ridley Scott's film 1492: Conquest of Paradise. The ship was known as Santa Maria until, in 1996, due to increasing demand for period square-riggers, she was converted into a 2 masted Brig and reverted to her original name Phoenix of Dell Quay.

What a beautiful craft, superbly photographed. I thought the Red Duster was for merchant ships, but Google tells me it's for passenger ships as well. Live and learn

Last time I saw anything like that in real life was at Warnemunde, on the Baltic coast a decade  ago.

You know that one?   I could remember it was a Dutch ship (and the flag was a clue)  but that was all.
I've just checked the date on the EXIF data of the original shot, and I see it was 2 June 2012 - so almost eleven years ago.  How time flies. Long before my DJI days of course

Magnificent shots!    The old 2 master appears to be really well maintained.

Considering that I wanted to buy a small boat myself, but the cost of maintaining a 15ft boat exceeded my expectations, I don't even want to think how much it costs to keep this one in proper order ;)

I feel your enthusiasm
We're too far from the coast for frequent visits - I have to wander the canal towpaths for "nautical" shots.
These guys were having a wild time of it (again in Warnemunde) once they left the lee of the groyne and headed out to sea

I was born and raised 200km from the coast so I know the struggle Moving to the coast 12 years ago was on of the best thing I did ;)

My good lady is from Whitehaven, and so was raised on the Cumbrian coast.  Sometimes she says she misses it.

You're very welcome.  I set a goal years back to be able to buy and live on a boat after I retired.  Fortunately, over the years I made some rather lucrative investments and have a generous retirement package which afforded me the opportunity to buy a mini-yacht.  I can tell you first hand that life aboard is a dream but it is expensive to maintain and operate unless you are capable of doing a lot of the work yourself.  The biggest expense is fuel.  

So without a doubt I'd say it is very expensive to keep that old 2 master in the great condition it is in.  I'd love to sail on it though.
