Altitude 10'
RTH altitude 100'
Home 0'

When the aircraft is commanded to RTH, what exact profile does it fly?
Will it ascend completely vertically from 10' to 100', then a direct route to 100' above Home then a perfectly vertical descent down to a landing at Home?

I will be operating near obstacles and would be taken by surprise if it descended on a slope as it neared home.

Read the manual.
https://dl.djicdn.com/downloads/ ... _User_Manual_EN.pdf

There are 2 1/2 pages or more devoted to the various RTH behaviours. Once you have read that ask questions about anything you do not understand or even think you do not understand.

And test the behaviour in a safe open space so that you know exactly what to expect.

The manual has very good explanations and as SBB suggests is well worth a read, but nothing beats seeing it for yourself.

Also, take very close note of the 20m limit inside which the drone will not accept to RTH height before returning.

Hi there. Thank you for reaching out. The Return To Home (RTH) function brings the aircraft back to the last recorded Home Point when the positioning system is functioning normally. There are three RTH modes: Smart RTH, Low Battery RTH, and Failsafe RTH. The aircraft will automatically fly back and land at the Home Point when Smart RTH is initiated, the aircraft enters Low Battery RTH, or the signal between the remote controller and the aircraft is lost. RTH will also be triggered in other abnormal scenarios such as video transmission loss. For more information, you may click the link that Sean provided on post #2 and visit Pages 16-18. Should you have other inquiries, please don't hesitate to reach us. Thank you for your valued support.
