For those wanting to see examples of photos taken with all three lenses (24mm, 70mm and 166mm) at native 1X zoom on the DJI Mavic 3 Pro, the following should give you a good idea of the quality and zoom level you can achieve with the drone hovering in flight from the same fixed position for each series of three photos.
All these photos were captured as jpeg images on a bright, sunny day with Auto settings in Normal color mode with a DJI ND8 filter installed.

This is my second series of photos demonstrating the image quality and beauty that can be captured using all three lenses (24mm, 70mm and 166mm) of the new DJI Mavic 3 Pro. These photos were captured as JPEG images in Auto mode in Normal Color mode using the native optical 1X zoom of each lens and a DJI ND8 filter with the aircraft hovering at the same location for all three photos in each series.

Thank you for these examples, it demonstrates that the Mavic 3 Pro has good cameras.

But one question: Why do you use ND-filter for still photos? On photos like these it will have no positive effect. On the contrary, any glass in front of the lens will have a negative effect on the image. You increase the risk for flare and sun reflections, and filters of mediocre quality (and even some good quality ones) will reduce the sharpness of the photo.

@TheMann58 Thank you for posting those pictures. May I ask, if it would be possible to post the RAW Images? Or the full resolution JPGs, depending on how you shot them? I would like to compare them with the quality of my M3P.

I agree, but I was also shooting video with all three lenses and it was an extremely bright, sunny day.

The video I captured, by the way, was also very nice and the depth compression you can achieve with the tele lenses is wonderful. For example, I shot a POI orbit of the flowering saguaro at about 15 feet with the 70mm and it looks like I’m onlyba couple feet away - very smooth.

UPDATE: Got it to work using the Link insertion feature instead of the Network Photo insertion feature.

So frustrated with DJI. It is easy to unpack and find some help on flying a drone. But the rest if it is so difficult. I cannot even find how to post a new thread! All I can find is to reply to other threads.

I am most confused on video editing. When I get done flying I don't know what to do with the video or pictures. I saw a video about downloaded. Where do you download them to? Is the video/pics stores on the drone? Thus you download them to the RC Pro? Which I have tried. But that will only hold a very small video of a few minutes. I found some LightCut app. But I cannot do anything with it. I see a button on the RC about "create". Cannot find out what that is or how to work it. It seems crazy that I would have to edit on the RC. It's nice but seems small and not very friendly to try and edit on that rather than a computer.

I thought the hardest part would be learning to fly. Turns out the hardest part is after the flight. Somewhat because DJI appears to be silent on what to do after the flight.

Help anyone?

Welcome new DJI drone owner and forum user! As with any new hobby - at first everything is simultaneously very exciting and somewhat frustrating. Fortunately, there is a much excellent help available for everything you are currently stuggling with - especially video editing.

I will address your first question - how do I create a new DJI forum thread?

Near the very top of the web page for every forum area, you will find the words "New Thread" in white letters highlighted in blue.  Click on this web button and, if you are logged in as a forum user, you can immediately start creating a new thread.

For example, the following link will take you to the main forum web page for the Mavic 3 Pro drone:
Dji Forum - DJI Mavic 3 Pro Page

If you scroll to the top of the page, you will find the "New Thread" button near the top right of the page.
Click on that, and a blank new thread page will open. Nexr, click on "Select a Topic Type" and select an applicable topic from the drop-down list, e.g., Mavic Series. After doing that, you will then click on "Select a subtopic type" and choose from the avialable choices, e.g. "Mavic 3 pro" at the very bottom of the list. Then type a descriptive title for your new thread post (up to 68 characters). Finally, in the large blank box, you can type your question, flying experience, etc. It is possible to insert photos, edit your text, insert photos, links to photos on other websites, links to YouTube videos, etc.

Now that you know how to create new forum thread posts, you can post your specific questions regarding recommended software and best YouTube tutorials for using that software for editing your drone video. Video editing is an art that can take years to fully master, especially high-powered video editing programs like Final Cut Pro for Mac computers and Adobe Premier Pro for Windows PCs.  These are expensive programs, BUT there are many excellent, full-featured video editing programs available for both computer platforms for free or reasonable cost.

Have a great day and enjoy your new DJI drone including learning more each day on how best to use it!

Ok. I basically found how to post new thread. I don't see how to do it from my personal home page though. But that's ok I have bookmarked a page to start.
I wrote a post. But it doesn't allow me to post. Only to "save draft". How do I post it? Sure seems strange that there just isn't a button at the end that says "post". lol

Am considering upgrading my mavic 3 to a mavic 3 pro, a mavic 3 photo equates to a print size of 446mm by 334mm at 300dpi do you know what a photo taken in RAW with the mavic 3 pro 70mm lens equates to in print size at 300dpi? Many Thanks

Nice pics.
Cannot have a good impression as photos are pretty compressed but in all photos with main camera appears a soft spot in mid-right...
Maybe you can check the original photos, as I said it can be compression of JPG but is strange to be in same area.
Cheers.

Thanks, Geo-Drone. The full-resolution originals are definitely more detailed than the compressed linked photos in this forum post. I uploaded full-res originals to SkyPixel with the intent of sharing those, but these full-res originals apparently cannot be downloaded or viewed directly on SkyPixel, even by me.  Would you know how I can enable the download and/or viewing of the full-res original photos that I uploaded to SkyPixel? I'll also post this question as a new forum thread.

I am not seeing any softness in the original photos other than where it would be expected due to the object being outside the depth of field of the focused subject of the photo. This limited depth of field is most apparent, of course, on the 70mm medium tele and the 166mm tele lens shots. Those lenses have fixed apertures of f/2.8 and f/3.4, respectively.  All the 24mm photos that I posted were also shot at an aperture of f/2.8, which will yield the minimum depth of field.

This limited depth of field is more apparent for the subjects that were relatively close to the aircraft. For example, for the backyard photos with the shrub in the center with red-orange blooms, the subject red-orange bloom was approx. 18' focal distance; so, the depth of field for the 24mm lens would be 13 to 29 feet, for the 70mm lens the DOF is only 0.6 feet, and for the 166mm lens the DOF is only 1.4 inches!

For the fallen saguaro photos, the aircraft was at 142' elevation. So, everything in the 24mm photo should be in focus (depth of field 39' to infinity). I do not see any softness in that original photo on the mid-right (or anywhere else).

Great....For SkyPixel Upload them when you are logged in your account, then give some time to be processed....once they appear, click on it, search the SHARE button and Copy link.
Just post link here. Also make sure they are PUBLIC, and not Private.

Cheers.

For those curious about the capabilities of the DJI Mavic 3 Pro's lenses, this series offers a fantastic glimpse. These sample photos, taken at the native 1X zoom level with the 24mm, 70mm, and 166mm lenses, showcase the drone's impressive image quality and zoom range. All captured on a sunny day using Auto settings in Normal color mode with an ND8 filter. A clear demonstration of the Mavic 3 Pro's versatility and performance.
