A little boat on the river.....

Spotted this little boat exoloring the river,  and then realised the boat moored up had some very odd equipment on the pontoon.

That close up really points out the odd stuff on that pontoon.  Not sure what a lot of it is used for though.

Sorry, I did try to see what all was on there but most of it was unfamiliar to me.  No doubt related to something they use the pontoon for.

I did see a mini-barge yesterday and they were trying to crane a small excavator onto it.  Unfortunately, I didn't have my drone or camera with me at the time.  It belonged to C&H Marine and they do bulkhead work and put up docks and piers.

The yellow rectangles on the pontoon I feel should have something to do with a floating pump pickup.  But my googling never found anything that big.

I've gone back and looked at the shot twice now and I still can't determine what all was on the pontoon.  The contents have me totally baffled this time around.

Once I get the back moving its OK,   but if I sit for too long or bend then its still very painful,   yesterday I succumbed and took some pain killers,  today ive managed to avoid that,   I like to take them sparingly as possible.

The few times I've experienced back aches it took several days to get over it.  Seems every time I would move just wrong it would hurt.  Was even hard to get in a comfortable position for sleeping.  Hopefully, you'll get better soon.

It's mostly gone now,  although if I sit for too long getting up is still a little slow and painful.

I might sweep the chimney later as I have to wait in for a delivery,  if that doesn't put ny back out again I'll be winning for sure.

Sounds like your back is improving quickly.  Just need to lay off cutting more firewood for a while.

I was due a delivery yesterday but the guy didnt show up.   but thats not too unusual.

One came over when I was cleaning the car to talk cars as he spotted it and hadnt seen one before,  and I asked him then,   he's already dropped off some ash.    The others came through a tree guy we use on the eucalyptus tree thats too big for me to manage.

I've have heard that eucalyptus wood burns hot, leaves little ash behind and provides a pleasant fragrance.

Of course in California they discourage the planting and growth of eucalyptus trees because of the high oil content within the tree which burn super hot and random sparks can reignite the wild fires.

The wood does smell just like the oil.   especially when freshly cut or turned on the lathe but Ive never spelt it when burning,    mostly because all of that goes up a 35ft chimney.

I wonder if burning that eucalyptus wood coats the walls of the chimney any worse than other types of wood?

Cant say Ive noticed any extra when sweeping the chimney after burning some,  I tend only to get it every three years when the tree is copsed and I probably dont burn enough to notice it anyway.  Its certainly no where near as sticky as pine and I do burn a little of that too.
