Today I went to fly with the mavic air 2 to a cliff next to the sea. From where I was to the sea there were about 30 meters. The first flight went well, I was able to descend without problems and I flew close to the water level. Although towards the end of the flight the mobile phone (xiaomi redmi note 11) screen suddenly became darker than normal and it was difficult for me to differentiate what I was seeing on the screen. Before making the second flight I turned off both the drone (I changed the battery) and the controller. I had auto brightness turned off on the phone and had it set to maximum. On the second flight the screen was dark from the beginning and I was not able to descend from the takeoff point. If I tried to descend, the drone would go into automatic landing process, which is pretty scary when you're flying over the sea. At that time it was about 30 meters above the sea. I have tried to go up in height and then go down, didn’t work. Turn everything off, turn everything back on, nothing. The screen was still dark and I couldn't get down from the takeoff level, I don't know if these two problems are related. I have read that sometimes the VPS can cause this type of problem when flying near water, but I was flying at 30 meters high.

Has this happened to anyone else?

Hi there. Thank you for reaching out and we're sorry for the trouble. Can you please confirm if you did receive an error message on the DJI Fly app during this issue? If yes, please send us a screenshot. Also, kindly please try to reinstall the DJI Fly app on your mobile device and have a test flight in an open area to see if the issue persists. Hi,

Best to get help/advice is to upload your flightlog for this issue.
use > https://www.phantomhelp.com/LogViewer/Upload/
Post the uploaded link on here

Mobile device screen brightness has nothing to do with your issue.

If you want to lower your craft and the IR height sensor measures false height of a0.5 meter, than it will go automatically into a forced landing.

FlightLog will explain better.

And yes, the bottom height sensor can cause this, mayby dirty or foggy or a wet sensor.
And yes, no erors on the screen if this is the case. No need to re-install the FlyApp for this.

cheers

Hello, thanks for the info.

Here's the first flight log https://www.phantomhelp.com/LogViewer/3AS5AWBQ8FWU9MVGUCJ8. It seems that in the minute 6:24 the VPS height is stuck at 1-2 feet. At some point, it returns to N/A, maybe when passing over a ship, there were some ships.

Here's the second https://www.phantomhelp.com/LogViewer/4D8QDDV7BVGBB2FYXS4Q. In this one, at the moment that I go from being above land to being above water, the VPS height turns to 1-2 feet. I also send the third (
https://www.phantomhelp.com/LogViewer/6JQFIUKOHC6SHK5F29T7) but it is pretty much the same as the second.

Hi,

Second flight in my chart of your data

Indeed, IR sensor at 0.5 meter + Down Stick = Forced landing.

See the Bold Green IR height line, and the Blue Baro height line.

If the IR height sensor is out of range to measure height, the height value in the CVS is still there...it will copy paste each next record with the last valid height measurement.

This until the sensor is measurimg height again.
PhantonHelp website shows then N/A.

cheers
