We worked on the dormers mainly.

I'm curious about the tiling. Normally, for both tiles and slates, we would start at the bottom and work up toward the ridge, finishing with capping stones along the ridge.

Impressive stills Peter.  Lots of progress on the roof.

Not only do dormers add a little space and let in more sun light but I find they add a lot to the architectural style.  

Nice colors for y roof ;-)

They first layed one row on the bottom and next one column to the top because they had to make the connection with the dormers first, so they knew how much they needed to 'add' to those to get whole tiles, because they use these ending tiles. So they can't just stop somewhere.
But the final laying will be top => bottom for sure.

That was Spanish slate though, not tiles. Fixed with stainless steel crochets (clips). Not nails like they do here in England.  Tiles I guess, just hook over the battens, like Marleytiles?

It's quite big. Spent a good 3 hours yesterday evening placing the ridges.
He also has a clipped gable roof, so that ment we had to do 5.
