Trying to find out more about the 3T and the sensor and if it's worth upgrading from 2T.

For 3T I can only find that they list it as:
  • Video Resolution 640×512@30fps

But that's not really the same as sensor resolution. I mean, the sensor can be 4x3 pixels and still record in upscaled 640x512.

For 2T they listed it in more details like:
  • Sensor Resolution 160×120
  • Video Recording Modes 640×360 @8.7fps

So, have anyone found more detaild specifications of the sensor in question?

Cheers and thanks

Or was the Enterprise and Enterprise Advanced two different models?

2 enterprise specs, here Sensor Resolution listed as 160x120:
https://www.dji.com/se/mavic-2-enterprise/specs

And here 2 enterprise advanced with that listed Sensor Resolution of  640×512 @30Hz

Ah, Yes. So apparently they are different. So, then the Q is... Is it worth upgrading from M2EA to M3T?

Yes, I think it is. First off, you get REAL zoom in the form of the 7x camera.

Second, the microbolometer (the thermal sensor) is improved via a smaller pixel pitch AND lower NETD. This makes for a sharper image and easier to detect living things against the background.

Third, the flight characteristics, safety systems, PSDK options, and controller are all improved.

Lastly, battery life is tremendously improved.

All that said, though, DJI has been dragging butt on unlocking all the "basic" drone functions like tracking and all the others that are mentioned in other threads. So that sorta sucks, but that's been their business model from the start.

Hi, NEO-drone. Thank you for reaching out. The Mavic 3T sensor parameters are better than M2ED, Mavic 3T Sensor Resolution is 640×512, but M2ED only has 160×120.

And pixel pitch?

All the values you just posted is the same for 3T, right? But the pixel pitch differs? Do you have a value for the two?

Thanks again

Hi there. The two of them have similar sensor specifications. Let me check if we have information for the pixel pitch. I'll get back to you once we receive details from our relevant team.

Similar, but not identical? People are talking about another pixel pitch. Would be interesting to know in detail. But if there are no details more than "similar" I guess that an upgrade from M2EA to 3T just for the thermal isn't really recommended?
