When setting my video settings to manual the ev automatically changes to -2.0

I have the ND8 filter attached. Is that normal for the ev to change automatically?

when you switch to manual, you have to adjust iso/shutter time by yourself.
ev meter shows -2 because your actual settings are causing underexposure. use dial to set exposure (ev) near 0.
remember that settings won't adjust automagically if light conditions changes...

the recommended settings for shooting video:
double the frame rate as your shutter speed: so if u r shooting 4k@24fps, you would choose shutter speed of 50. then take p3 up a ew feet and see what the over exposure says, you then would use the corresponding nd filter to drop the OE. e.g: if it says over exposed by 3 then you would use a ND filter that drops 3 stops.

I see - so that value is telling what my EV is based on my settings.  I got confuse because if you switch to auto mode you're able to adjust the EV value manually.  Thanks for the clarification.
