160 minutes times 2 is a very long shooting time!

With a spare battery, 5 plus hours of recording. Even if you got half that on a larger format, it’s good.

I guess the battery life has been calculated at 1080 30 fps but they really do seem to have got at battery limitations of old on the Actions.

Quite incredible to get a max 160 minutes out of a battery that even works in a freezer.

Just that it can handle the cold is just amazing, and I had no issues recording in -10c while other cameras just died of the cold after 20-30 minutes.

Most of the time, British weather isn’t great either. I have often felt let down by GoPro batteries which seem to look for the first opportunity to expire!. It would be really nice to see a really strong alternative to get the fat cat off its perch a little.

Where do you see 430 euros? I see 450. They slapped on 70 bucks to compensate themselves for all the possible loss OA3 has caused them. Next year they can just sell the Osmo 5 for a thousand bucks. There will be enough fools out there who will buy it anyway regardless of price.

The oversharpening is awful in all the videos I've seen. Hoping for a noise reduction/sharpening setting on the Action 4 as well.

I hope OS 4 does not have focus issue in OS 3. Larger sensor is a great even though I mostly use APS-C camera at night anyway.  My original OS officiallly died last vacation. So I was on edge of getting GP11, but now I will buy OS 4 when it's available.

Specs wise it's just a nice bump on the Action 3, nothing out of world. Kind of what the Action 3 should have been.

From what I can see so far in the reviews. The image rendering is nice (much improved), DJI is still applying sharpening (even on the low setting) in camera.  Less noise in the shadows than the GoPros. Skin tones still look better on the GoPro to me. The mic is clearer on the Action 4, the GoPro seems more directional but also more muffled.

The Action 4 looks a winner overall, with the super long battery life wider FOV, better stabilisation, easy of use etc.. and despite buying a GoPro recently (offer was too good to refuse), the Action 4 is one I'd get if I had a spare £400. Don't think you can go wrong with either. It's just a bit of oneupmanship between the brands now, with the new GoPro due to launch in September.

DJI's video shows motorcyclists using the camera, so I hope they really have sorted out the audio issues.

In a Norwegian shop ad it says "you connect with usb-c cable.." so maybe no adapter is needed?

The videos I've seen of the Osmo Action 4 so far look very promising. I don't know exactly what setup Tom has, but it sounds pretty good too.

That guy upscaled 1080 to 4K and not sure what settings he had on stabilization.

Here you can see how good the stabilization is when he is driving on his RC car.

I think the most ao extra parts are oem by telesin

in some yt videos the user found this ring and dont know what it is

Outer diameter is 32mm
Screw thread at back is 20mm.

It’s a very shallow lens cover in order to avoid having glass over the front lens if you want. It also allows a little more light in without the normal glass cover.

Now, I think it is a cracker. Ahead of the 3 by quite a margin. I’m beginning to think that I might have a duff Action 3 which is why I couldn’t get on with it!

Not really. It ‘appears’ darker because highlights are significantly lower than on the 3. So overall, it looks darker, but indoors, on a flattish scene, they’re close. The 4 maybe a fraction lower.

It's almost like it's looking for bright areas and reducing them so the average screen brightness looks less!

Only had it a short while, so will do a load more with it tomorrow. So far, it's really impressive.

I've never gone the GoPro route at all. so cannot compare. But I've been reasonably happy with my Pocket 2 and Action2.

Not used a GP since my 7 Black up and died for no reason at all bud.
