Is RTH available in M mode?

Today I lost my AVATA after a video signal lost when I was in M mode. I read the AVATA owner manual but it's not clear if RTH is available in M mode. I thought it was.
2-3 days ago, in the same spot the RTH was engaged in a similar situation.

I have care refresh plan but I don't know if RTH should be engaged or not.

The last GPS spot of the drone (the crash point) is next to a road but unreachable since it's on the side of a high steep hill with too many high and spicy trees.

I try to open a new case but I got the message that my S/N is used in a Express Care. There is an old case (Case No: CAS-11641711-B5L4V7) with status "TO BE RECEIVED BY DJI" It has to do with a FPV controller replacement which has already done. Can you close this old case in order to open a new one please?
