I have the air, Air 2 and Air 2s but still got the urge to buy the Air 3. Mad I am. Have others got similar urges

Will you be equally tempted to get the Air 3S in about 7-8 months as well?

Seems like it will be a good upgrade over the Air 2S.  I'm considering it but will not be an early adopter this time around.

Probably....... You cant help some people lol. Mind you I know some people who wait for ever and never buy anything lol

What will trigger a lot of people will be a BF sale or a DJI Day 30% off...or some sort of deal you cannot pass up.

Next step up is the Mavic 3 Classic. Air 3 is basically a placebo.

Will it support waypoint? No? Well, DJI wont see another cent from me until they offer this as standard. Otherwise it's little more than a toy.

Not for me until the drone rules in the UK get sorted out,    especially now they are looking at all devices in the lower airspace being digitally connected during flight.  

I have urge to get DJI RC (2) as I like the idea to not constantly connect phone to remote. And having Air 2 drone I would need compatible drone to operate with. But rumoured sensor size or weight of Air 3 doesn't make me sure about my next purchase at the moment...

As a previous owner of a Mavic 3 classic, then upgraded to the now discontinued Mavic 3 (2 camera) no way will I become an early adopter of the next drone they’ll discontinue after their marketing cash grab and subsequent discontinuation of the air 3 in favor of an Air 3 “Pro Ultra Elite” model which will come out 2 months later.

TLDR; never early adopt unless you are just itching to throw money away.

Not this time around...  Shoot by Christmas I'll contemplate the Air 3S with six cameras and a 12" main camera. The product segmentation is a real downer.

Waypoint support is in the Air 3 though not sure if it will be added to A2S or other older models.

So the Rc Pro isn't compatible with the air 3?

At this time, its not compatible. No communication or timeline if or when DJI will add support including the non pro DJI RC.

DJI is trying to sell N2 and RC2 packages so I don't think the RCPro update will be available on day 1.

Yes, I do although there is probably medication one can take to suppress these urges.

I have a MA2 and Mini 3 Pro; was going to sell the MA 2 but haven't gotten around to it yet. I like the longer flight time of the Mini 3 but the smaller size and weight is not really a big deal for me. The carrying case I have for the Mini 3 is actually a little larger than the one for the MA2 so it's slightly bigger to lug around. Go figure.

One thing I like about the MA2 over the Mini 3 is ADS-B. In the area where we are at during the summer months, there are a lot of banner planes flying over the beach. There's also a Coast Guard base about 7 miles away and it's not uncommon to see helicopters flying over the area, and they don't seem to be over 400'.  I know one must be diligent when flying and I don't fly over crowded beaches, but it's still nice to know there's an aircraft in the area.

So, I could use the fact that the Mavic 3 has ADS-B to justify the purchase. Sort of. My wife never says no to anything I want to buy, so I have to police myself and it isn't always easy.

As a mavic 3 pro owner. The air 3 is pointless. The mavic 3 can do whatever the air 3 can plus 7x zoom. Which the air 3 is only 1x and 3x. Why down grade to the air3. Pointless. But for someone who can't afford a maivc 3 pro, the air 3 is a great upgrade from the air 2s.

Don't forget that 4/3 Hasselblad main camera on the Mavic 3

I like my M3 still and will keep it sure but someone who doesn't own M3 can buy Air3 for sure, it is good price for money.

I would like to see real llife tests of O4. But anyhow i'm not happy that much often upgrade on communication technology. This makes all of your equipment absolute that much fast. I would like to have some option to upgrade the communication module and keep using the device at least a few generation of Ox.

Nah, not me this time. Already have the Mavic 3 Pro and the Air 3 will be a downgrade

I know that I am not up for an upgrade at this time.  I just purchased my Air2S in January and I need to get about 2 good years from my drone before I can consider an upgrade.  Plus I have Care Refresh for 2 years.  Maybe by that time they have the next version of the Air series out and I can invest into it.  Or I will wait at that point for the next version if there is a hint of one coming out.  I love my AIR2S anyway, it does everything that I ask it to do.  I don't like the battery life, but I fixed that by buying 5 more batteries.  Yes, I would like to have a higher resolution still camera but I can live with what I have.  I like having the 5.4K video that I use for one of my clients.  So no I won't be upgrading at this time, even with all the improvements the Air 3 has.

The only way to waste money is not to spend it

Air 2S/RC Pro, unless they make the RC Pro compatible, the only upgrade is Mavic 3.

That will be a big NOPE!! I just got a Mavic 3 Cloassic.

I told myself that I won't be buying the Air 3 but I did. I now currently own the Mini 3 Pro, Air 2S, Air 3 and the Mavic 3. The Air 3 and Mavic 3 share a similar 24mm focal point lens. The difference is in the Tele camera with the Mavic 3 using a 162mm/15 degree FOV. The Air 3 uses a 70mm format Tele with a 35 degree FOV.

The Mavic 3 Pro cameras are basically the combination of both the Air 3 and Mavic 3 cameras. Obviously the Mavic's use the Hasselblad cameras but I can't tell much of a difference. Have to say that the Air 3 is the most rock steady of all my drones

In my opinion, the Air 3 is not pointless because the Air 3's 2nd camera has a FOV of 35 degrees using  a format of a 70 mm focal point whereas the Mavic 3's 2nd camera has a FOV of 15 degree using a focal point of 162mm. Totally different perspective.

Edit: I misread but yes, the Air 3 would be pointless if you already own the Mavic 3 Pro. In my head, thought you were refering to the Mavic 3
