Sadly it's virtually impossible to bring a drone into Egypt.  It will be confiscated at the airport.  I've always taken a drone on my holiday trips so what can a guy do?  Well, I brought along an Insta360 ONE RS camera mounted on a 3m long collapsable pole.  Here is a video of one of my many adventures in Egypt.

Out of interest how would they know at the airport you had a drone,   or do they search everyones bags as you enter the country?

Interesting video.    I don't think that would be an ideal climb down or out for me at 6'2" tall.

They X-Ray all the bags.  Even the hotel had an X-ray scanner & metal detector at the entrance.

I'm 6'-1" and made it without rubbing my back on the ceiling too much.  My afterthought was how do they keep oxygen down there, there's no ventilation system.

wow.    thats a huge task to undertake,  normally the x ray the bags when you get on a plane not getting off.

I had to go through 3 scan stations when going into the airport to catch a flight, and of course, there are uniformed guys with machine guns everywhere.

That's a great question.  You'd think without any ventilation system the air would get really stale very fast.

I found out too late, they confiscated my drone at airport.  I did get it back on the way out but took over an hour, 26 people and had to pay storage.

Flying to India via egyptair with a 10hr layover in Cairo. Am I allowed to have my drone in my checked luggage? Since I won’t be getting my luggage in Cairo

I don't think so but you cannot put lipo batteries in checked luggage.  So in your carry-on have the transmitter and drone batteries and put everything else in checked luggage.  Typically bags going to the baggage claim belts are x-rayed but your checked bag will sit on the tarmac until it gets loaded onto the next plane.
