I sent it back to DJI.  Was told the LED was defective.  They shipped me a replacement and the bottom LED on it works perfectly.

I know how i take care of my drone, as i watch others push to the limits.  I alwa6s hope the pilot before me treated the drone well.

I hear you on that.  It is always a crap shoot in getting a replacement drone.  I did get luck twice though and got new drones vice refurbs.

Well at least they support us frequent fliers. It's so worth it to have the insurance if you fly allot.

I've always purchased the insurance on each drone from DJI.  I didn't get the extended protection for my Skydio 2+ but then again that is one super hard drone to crash.  It is so autonomous.

same here. I just bought a used Mavic 2 Pro and I don't have insurance on it, which leaves me with less confidence, even thought I have never crashed one. KNOCK ON WOOD.

Yeah, knock on wood and keep a rabbit's foot handy so you don't jinx yourself.  

No matter how well we prepare and plan we simply can't predict everything that could happen.  Having insurance is a nice safety blanket.

Very True.

Just bought a new dji air3. And going through settings. I try to turn on the led light manually and auto. Led light did not turned on. Went for a fly and tried again. And it failed. Now have to take it back to retail store. The LED light doesn’t turn on at all. So my advice is to go for another model if you don’t want to have a hard time.

Same problem here. Just bought it today. Now i have to take it back.

Sorry to hear that.  It does seem a few drones make it through Quality Control and still have an issue or two.  At least DJI replaced my rather quickly although I had to send it to them as the local retailer was out of stock already and had no idea when he'd get new stock in.

I have to mention that the Air 3 Auxiliary Light only works when the aircraft is in flight.
I have tried to turn it on while the drone was on the ground and no luck, but then I took off and it worked!

You're absolutely right about it having to be in flight.  Unfortunately, my original Air 3 bottom LED would NOT work even in flight.  DJI replaced it under warranty and the replacement Air 3 works perfectly.

Thanks mobilehomer.  I contacted DJI Support and they had me refresh firmware via DJI Assistant 2.  No light still.  They had no further troubleshooting steps so they directed me to file a replacement application and then wait for up to 2 business days for a shipping label to be sent.  Application filed so now just have to wait on shipping label.  In the meantime I have to pack it all back up and be ready to ship it.

My auxiliary light turned off as soon as my drop got in the air

Just got my new air 3 today.
Nothing I do will make the landing light come on. Auto, ON, - aux light SET UP on the back button - nothing.
I'm actually bummed out

I'm sure you know that the aux light will not come on until you have the drone flying.  While not flying it stays off no matter what you try to do.  If it will not come on while flying you will probably need to have it replaced under warranty.
