Hello

I think my video's shot with the Mini 3 pro are choppy: https://youtu.be/BIGQ1sAA-8Y
I didnt move too smoothly on purpose. I see most problems when panning.
I shot in FH at 30 f/s.

What I did already:
- reformat SD-card
- try other card (identical, see lower)
- callibrate gimbal
- reset camera-settings

I had an talk with DJI-support. They say I must first try another SD-card because the one I use is not adviced.

SD-card I use
= Samsung EVO Plus mirco SDXC 256GB (Class 10, Class A2, UHS Class 3, video speed Class 30, writing 130 MB/s)
I looked up which resolution requires which speed. I found: FH requires 30 MB/s and 4K requires 60 MB/s.
I have no experience with fotography and making video's, but in my humble opinion is the card not an issue?

Any help would really be appreciated.

Regards,
Nico

The problem is self created by moving drone left right in speedy manner & on top of that you are not using the ND filter to match the correct FPS.
ND filter can reduce your problem however fast random moment even with ND filter wont solve the problem.

Slow down & use ND filter so your shutter speed is double the FPS you are shooting,
Example-
30fps would need 1/60th shutter speed.
60fps would need 1/120 shutter speed.

Your card is fine
Hope this helps.

Hi Ranjan

Thanks for the reaction. It surely points me in a new direction.

I forget to mention I'm also new to drone-flying. Just started few months ago. So I'm aware I have to learn ALOOOT.
So forgive me asking silly questions'.

I understand now it's best to use a (ND) filter over the camera.
And I must pick the right filter for the shutter speed I need?
It's not possible to do the same in the camera settings?
(But I suppose the filter has more benefits overall.)

Groet,

My camera is on AUTO but maybe I'm better off using manual mode (after understanding the basics).

Hi Ranjan

Thanks for the reaction. It surely points me in a new direction.

Hi Groet,
No issues asking silly questions, that's one way we all learn.

1. Yes usually for mini 3 pro in daylight you would need 32x or 64x ND filter
2. No its not possible to do the same in camera as the day light is way beyond the shutter speed control you will need.
3. Remember if you still move that fast ND filter will still not help, best is to use Cine Mode & if the scene has the moment don't move the drone much, it already has the moment being recorded.
4. Usually with ND filter its best to use Manual mode but once you gain experience you can use Auto mode too.

Hope this helps.

Hey

Capcut and DavinciResolve.
In Resolve the project's framerate is set to the framerate of the video.

I post the original video, straight from the SD-card:

Hello there. Sorry for the inconvenience. Can you please try the steps below?
1. We recommend using a filter or lowering the degree of moving the control stick to obtain a better view effect.
2. Check whether the gimbal has fallen off from the gimbal buckle. Please perform gimbal and IMU calibration in the DJI Fly app, and check whether there is any error.
3. Please check whether there is any error with the original footage in the microSD card. If not, this issue is caused by poor image transmission signals, such as:
a. Insufficient handling capacity in the mobile device;
b. Strong signal interference.
4. Please try to fly on another flight environment. If the issue persists, you can provide us with a  video for further checking.
Please keep us posted once tested. Have a great day ahead.

The Video is not choppy at all on my side of Youtube.

Maybe it's a performance problem on the users PC?

Hi Tony

"Check whether the gimbal has fallen off from the gimbal buckle" : how do I do that? Is there a video showing how.
( I haven't had a crash by the way)

I recallibratedeverything already with no error.

I will try the rest and come back.

Thanks,
Nico

Some of it at the start of the video looks like frame drop, which could well be the card.

Hi Tony

Maybe you oversaw my extra question.

"Check whether the gimbal has fallen off from the gimbal buckle" --> it's difficult to understand because I'm native Dutch and get a weird translation.

Therefore I put a picture; correct me if I'm wrong:
Gimbal is orange (2)
Gimbal buckle is Blue (3)

And you are talking the part where they are joined.
When i move with the gimball the buckle moves along, they seem to fit good.

Can you point me the parts you are talking about on the foto I join?

Nico

Hi Tony

Hi. I'm sorry for not making it clear. I meant the part where the number 3 is attached. Just check if it's loose or if a knob is detached. Thank you for your patience.

Hi

I took a screenshot from an assembling video (pic 1, black gloves).
As I see it here, the rubber is pulled all the way through.

In my picture (pic 2) there is broader part of the rubber that is on the inside.
That's not good like that?

If I pull those, it's not that they feel very loose.

Nico

Hi

I took a screenshot from an assembling video (pic 1, black gloves).

Thank you for your patience. We don't recommend self-dismantling the drone. It is normal. The movement speed is fast, and the picture changes greatly. However, the frame rate does not change. It is advised to increase the frame rate as appropriate to improve the smoothness of the video. Have a great day ahead.

Thank Tony, I will increase framerate.

Still, 2 off-topic questions if I can put the here?
(let me know if you want me to put them elsewhere)

1. Do you have knowledge of official DJI points here in Belgium? Or shops that are official DJI certified? If I look it up on your website, it says 'none' in Belgium.

2. I'm looking for the quick transfer option. I have installed the app on my android phone. Fly app detects my drone and asks to connect.
Message 'cannot connect because there is already a connection'
(my RC is off at that moment).
Strange?

Regards
Nico

I have watched the video a couple of times and it looks quite good.
I'm not sure how much experience you have with videography, but it's very common to get a bit of stuttering of judder with smooth motion.
And TBH you can't always avoid this.
There are some things you can do to lower the risk, but with these smooth moves that the DJI gimbals can perform, there is always a risk of hitting a specific 'change per frame' that you perceive as stuttering.
Some things that help :
(In order of importance!)
- Make sure you edit in the same framerate as your video was shot!
- Move slowly.
- Don't do hard pans (rote left to right etc), but combine with some forward, backward motion.
- Shoot at the fastest shutterspeed (50 or 60 fps)
- Make sure your monitor refresh rate is set to something dividable by your shutterspeed.

All these things are 'free' and more important than the shutter rule (to prevent stuttering).
If you master all these things and still experience stuttering, then you can look into ND filters to get a slow enough shutterspeed.

Advice you gave was/ is being implemented allready.
I'm a bit further in the learning process. So pieces in the puzzle are coming together.
Main issue was too fast camera movements.
But all the other stuff is indeed important too (fr/s, filters...)
I'll get back with a video later to check for you guys.

Really appreciate your help!
