Unfortunately, the maximum adjustable time is only 30 seconds, it would be good if longer exposure time was also possible. Especially for photos at night, this would be very useful.

I agree with you, but just wanted to mention

30 seconds is more than enough to light up a dark scene, longer shutter speeds are probably better used for daytime fine art photography .

I need 4-5 minutes exposure for astrophotography, to fully capture the faint details, but that is with a full frame Sony on a star tracker. I’m hoping to try with the Action 4 as a very lightweight compromise for a trip to the Sahara desert.
Do you think the 30 seconds maximum exposure is set to prevent the sensor / camera from overheating?

Hell no, 30 sec is enough to light your butt during the day. DJI made a joke with 30 seconds of exposure on action 3 and 4. So ridiculous. That's why I just ordered GoPro 12. It has a starlap mod. I was using DJI action osmo 1 for 5 years that had 120 sec exposure which was super cool but now I'm going to GoPro. Sorry DJI

Any status on this. I just bought the oa 4 and I'm disappointed that I can't take star trail pics, or even take decent milkyway shots. Even an expansion of up to 120 second exposure for still photos  and time lapse would be great.

Yes, please add this feature! 120 seconds would be awesome but also up 60 seconds is a huge step up for the Action 4!

If in 6 months you was not able to implement this in the latest firmwares, maybe would be a better idea to just move to GP.

It's that hard to listen to your customers, DJI!? JUST edit a simple function, you don't need 3 versions of a camera or 15 firmwares, for SURE!

There is Action 5 Pro coming, here we will be able to set 30 seconds again.

Confirmed, the 5 has a 30 second limit too. I dont understand the lack of a star trails feature or the max 30 sec limit.   If the developers used the same (binning) they are using for low light video with this sensor, the camera could take amazing 10mp Milkyway or star shots.
