Hey all, I just got the OM 6 and was happy to see it could support my S23 Ultra. I was even happier to see it could do 4k/60fps in the mimo app. I took it out for a couple hours at the beach, only to find everything I shot using the mimo app was shakey, like I was holding the phone with my hand and I had the shakes. The few scenes I took in the native camera app look nice and smooth.

What gives? Why does the Mimo app make my footage very shakey? Am I missing a setting or something?

Hi there. Thank you for reaching out and we're sorry for the trouble. Please try to follow the troubleshooting steps below to check if the issue persists:

1. Check whether the mobile phone system permissions have been enabled in the DJI Mimo app.

2. Reset the Bluetooth and try to reconnect to DJI Mimo.

3. Ensure that the app version for DJI Mimo and the gimbal firmware are up to date.

4. Try to roll your foot gently from the heel to the ball of your foot when walking (Avoid shooting in windy environments as much as possible).

5. If a high resolution and frame rate are used for shooting, the mobile phone will automatically disable EIS, and the anti-shaking effect will decrease. Please try to lower the resolution and frame rate for shooting to see if the issue persists.

If the issue persists, please provide us with a short video showing the issue so we can check it further. Thank you for your understanding.

The thing is, is I shoot in native camera app, it is perfectly smooth. Its only when I shoot in the DJI Mimo app that is has the shaky effect. here is a video clip I uploaded to youtube.  https://youtu.be/wMRvaDyk9Eg?si=4dPg64TyHmzJyp-B

Thank you for your response. Kindly please try the troubleshooting steps above to see if there are changes to the issue. If you have a different mobile device, please try using it with the DJI Mimo app running on that mobile device to further isolate the issue. Please keep us posted. Thank you.

How can I check for gimbal firmware?
Also, I looked in my app settings, everything appears to be enabled, except for notifications which shouldnt matter for the function of the gimbal.

To me it looks like an app issue as the footage comes out smooth when I dont use the app. I want to use the app though, and its frustrating that it comes out shaky.

I will attach photos of my app settings.

Same issue here. Crappy results with their own app, but butterfly smooth when using native video app (but then no controls can be used on the gimble).
Again, no answer or solution from DJI. Their aftersales are very very bad. So, gimble will be sent back after my holidays. I don't care it has been used now. I have 30 days to return without a reason.

So here is the skinny, its not DJI fault as I assumed. Apparently it has to do with the camera hardware in androids that is proprietary or otherwise not given to DJI to write the app for. So, you must use the native camera app to shoot. You can still use some controls, if you bluetooth your phone to the gimbal and then use the native camera app, you can still start/stop recording with the gimbal and use the joystick to turn the gimbal or go up/down  - but thats it. Also, make sure you turn on the stabilization in your camera. If you turn it off, your video will be unusable.

So:
Stabilization on
Bluetooth to Gimbal
Dont use the Mimo app

So:

On the iPhone it is 4K60FPS only that is shaky.  It IS DJI's fault because none of the other 3rd party camera apps (such as BlackMagic, Moment, etc.) have this problem, just DJI Mimo.
