Same issue here. Crappy results with their own app, but butterfly smooth when using native video app (but then no controls can be used on the gimble).
Again, no answer or solution from DJI. Their aftersales are very very bad. So, gimble will be sent back after my holidays. I don't care it has been used now. I have 30 days to return without a reason.
So here is the skinny, its not DJI fault as I assumed. Apparently it has to do with the camera hardware in androids that is proprietary or otherwise not given to DJI to write the app for. So, you must use the native camera app to shoot. You can still use some controls, if you bluetooth your phone to the gimbal and then use the native camera app, you can still start/stop recording with the gimbal and use the joystick to turn the gimbal or go up/down - but thats it. Also, make sure you turn on the stabilization in your camera. If you turn it off, your video will be unusable.
So:
Stabilization on
Bluetooth to Gimbal
Dont use the Mimo app |
