Anyone know about the fact that this drone still isn’t showing up on the FAA web site?  Will that happen?

I just purchased a FPV  for my son and am running into the issue of not being able to find a Remote ID using any of the list.

It appears the FPV is now listed as compliant as of 12/6/2023...

He is using the Goggles V2 that come in the FPV Combo

However, we are considering returning it for the Avata (but still needs to be connected to a phone unless use goggles Integra?).

Was there ever a consensus here?

Hello; so in my testing when I used the Googles V2 and my cell phone connected, I was able to see it broadcasting on a wifi network, basically it puts out the Remote ID # as the wifi name.  But I also wasn't able to see it in the Remote ID apps as broadcasting.

For me, the fact that it is listed in the FAA website as compliant and that I can see it as a wifi network is enough.  But I still slightly question why I can't see it in the Remote ID apps.

Ever since i was tricked into doing this update for the REMOTE ID
The distance of the drone is horrible once I hit 900 feet at 130ALT or before the video becomes distorted very badly. It’s not longer any fun to fly this drone. I’ve not even owned it a full year yet. Never crashed it nothing was wrong until this update and a new remote was linked to drone. It’s a paper weight to me now. I still have all original packaging same props that came with it. 100% mint condition drone. Bought go pro mount and insta360 camera mounts for it but never used them. Also have 3 batteries with the 3 battery charger thing, plus the car charging setup, 2 goggles batteries. Still under warranty. Willing to sale with the email address that’s linked for the care program

Hi,

Which goggles are you using? I have not tried the newer goggles at that distance but I have never had any problems with the original goggles that came with the drone at that height and distance.   There might be wifi interference in your area like Frontier or others that have wi-fi hotspots on top of telephone poles. There is a lot you can do to extend range like specify the channel or even the band that you use. 5ghz is also widely used in weather radars which is also a factor.  Unless you are standing on a platform, I believe 900 feet away at 130 ft alt is out of sight. Use the great circle calculation land see if it is line of sight including the trees around you.  Unless I'm in an open field, I do not know of anywhere in my area where I could see my drone at 130 ALT, 900 feet away.

You should be able to enter the RID Serial Number on the FAA website when it becomes available to the DJI FPV.

Where do I find the RID number?

I too was foolish and updated my perfectly flying FPV model. I am using the v2 Goggles. Does this now mean I have to connect my phone to the goggles with a cable and have the DJI GO app running every time I fly?

Hi, CactusJackSlade. We understand the inconvenience. However, according to the Remote ID rule, the Remote ID system cannot be disabled by any person, and once the drone is upgraded to RID-compliant firmware, it cannot be downgraded. Thank you for your understanding.

Where do I find the RID number?

Hi there. For aircraft with a 20-digit alphanumeric serial number (always prefixed with 1581F), The Remote ID serial number is the same as the drone serial number, and generally the same as the flight controller serial number, You can check the serial number of the drone in various ways,
1. Serial number on the box sticker
2. Serial number inside the battery compartment or elsewhere on the fuselage of the drone
3. Serial number inside the DJI App
For the drone with a 14-digit alphanumeric serial number, the Remote ID serial number is not the same as the drone serial number (or flight controller serial number), You can get the Remote ID serial number of these aircraft by:
1. Remote ID Serial number inside ” Available networks“in the WLAN
2. Remote ID Serial number inside the DJI Fly App at the "About" section
I hope this helps. Have a great day ahead.

The FPV's 20 characters RID SN is 1581F + flight control SN + 0 (the number 0 not the letter O)

wow thanks.  I just tried adding a zero to the end and it worked.  then I saw you stating this so nice!

Hi DJI Tony - I am trying to find the RID on my DJI FPV that has the 14 digit SN. I did all the FW updates today and the app update.... as far as I know I am completely updated.
However, I go look in the About section (do you mean in the Goggles v2, or in the app - they both have an About section) and there's nothing at all about a RID.
Do I have to do this outside? I am in my apartment. I did see a message that RID was active and had a green border when my phone is connected.

Why is this so hard ???

UPDATE:
DJI_Tony is giving out incorrect information! The RID is NOWHERE to be seen ... not in the goggles... not in the app. WHY WHY WHYWHWYHWEJ???

these are the TRUE steps (ANDROID)
1) get a reliable USB cable !

2) AT HOME: connect your Goggles, Drone, and RC to your phone (not PC - because it MUST work on the phone!) and do all the updates. App... firmware...and good luck with the GPS database - that failed to download about 10 times.

3) Test that everything is working and charge the batteries for a flight.

4) on another phone install "Drone Scanner" from the Play Store

5) OUTSIDE: get Drone Scanner started on the other phone, with your phone launch your drone and pause it up in the air... safety drum roll... WHILST you carefully put the remote controller down (careful with that throttle), lift the goggles up, look on the other phone, and make sure your drone shown.

6) Land... and your other phone will still show the RID.

7) TAKE A SCREENSHOT WITH YOUR REMOTE ID

??? OMG WHY ISN'T THE RID SHOWN IN THE GOGGLES UI ???
???? WHY IS IT SO HARD DJI ????

Hi there. Let me assure you that we don't have any reasons to provide misinformation. We only aim to help with inquiries and technical issues. I was referring to DJI Fly app. And yes, you need to connect your phone to the Goggles V2 since the DJI Fly app from the phone needs to obtain GPS data from the mobile phone or tablet and then send it to the aircraft through the goggles. For drones with a 14-character, you can simply get the RID by following this format: SN 141581F + 14-character flight controller SN + 0. Please refer to this link to learn more: https://support.dji.com/help/con ... p;re=US&lang=en. We appreciate your understanding.

Here I thought I was current and 100% legal. Guess again. Maybe because I rarely use the DJI Fly app?
Apparently, there is a firmware update. A fairly major one that includes Remote ID to be complaint? Seems like a big enough deal to notify people. When I first got the FPV combo, I couldn't even fly until the firmware was up to date. I also have "Firmware Auto Download" toggled on in the app and no notification of a new firmware.
Questions/concerns:
1) DJI FPV is showing up on the FAA as compliant 2.22.2024. So that's good.
2) My serial number still isn't showing up on the FAA site even though it's registered through the FAA. Weird but ok. - RESOLVED
3) My aircraft firmware is 01.03.00.00. However, the current (as of 6.2024) AC firmware is 01.04.00.00? This is the update that includes legit remote id compliance.
4) From other users it sounds like I will have to now have my phone connected to the goggles and with the DJI Fly app on in order to fly with Remote ID? I'm not keen on having yet another device and cord connected to my goggles for a few reasons. For one, the phone always starts auto-charging. So it's going to drain the goggle batteries while in flight. This really doesn't seem like a great solution, more of a stopgap. On top of that I'm reading about performance degradation with this new update from other users.
For now, I'm holding off on the update as it cannot be undone and the weather is bad anyway. Really don't want to have to plug in my phone every time now, yet another cord and more battery management. Is there any other method?

Hi there. That is correct. Also after taking off, you can disconnect the mobile device and wear the goggles to fly. If the user unplugs the phone when the motor starts but the drone does not leave the ground yet, it will still stop the propellers/motors. Only after taking off, you can remove the mobile device. Have a nice day.

Ah-ha! Apologies, I missed this page and this reply. So, Step 1: take off, Step 2: unplug iPhone. That works for me; compliant, avoids draining the goggle battery with the phone thinking it can charge off of it, and hopefully mitigates performance degradation others were having. Thank you Tony and others!

This didn't work for me - 141581F and then my 14 digit flight controller, and then a zero is still invalid.
EDIT:
Fixed - DJI Tony has the wrong number here - it should be 1581F  instead of :

"For drones with a 14-character, you can simply get the RID by following this format: SN 141581F + 14-character flight controller SN + 0."

Anyone know the answer to this..

If you have a  Remote-ID error.. and for me only re-plugging the phone clears it in flight... will the motors re-start in flight ?

That could be a bad day if you accidentally or on purpose de-arm/CSC and cant re-arm just because of a non-critical error message.

Once you're in flight you can unplug the phone and forget it.  You only need the phone to clear the error for take-off, it has no effect after that.

yes, I am aware that once your motors are Running AND you are in the AIR you can continue to fly ...

What I am  asking is if you disarm IN FLIGHT while also getting a Remote ID error.. will the quad RE-ARM

I am betting NO

Hi there, thank you for reaching out. Regrettably, as of now, the DJI FPV drone does not support Remote ID functionality. The application for the Cx certification is not supported however,  you can fly it in the A3 environment. We recommend that you consult the local drone regulatory authorities before flying to understand the regulations or norms related to drone usage, ensuring compliant and safe flights.

Thank you for your understanding and support!

Hi everyone, I recently purchased DJI FPV drone in the US and I am not able to FAA register the drone RID#. I've tried the 1581F follow by Ser# and ending with a 0. It gives me Invalid serial number. Any suggestion? I did all the FW updates. When phone is plugged and DJI Fly app is open I get message that RID is broadcasting.

Hi there. Thank you for reaching out. Kindly please note that the firmware upgrade for the DJI FPV drone containing the remote ID compliance will be available by August 31, 2023, at the latest. We will surely let you know once the update is released. Furthermore, please try the serial number lookup option under the FAA Declaration of compliance website. Thank you for your understanding and support.

Thats the good news but bad news as well. Why! because we can’t fly in our backyard if we don’t have faa and we need to register do everything. Then if we don’t do that, then the dji fpv drone cannot start, because we needed to upgrade  the firmware online.
Then after that you can fly. Horray. Here’s the additional we needed to put on the goggle v2 version. We needed to bring always the smartphone and need to connect always every time we fly in a backpack yard. If you didn’t connect your smartphone then you cannot fly any more. Thats the bad news I experienced to dji fpv drone and mine got broken and never fly anymore. And onethings more, theres an sky patrol drone on the sky always catching you and they call the police to arrest you on the spot. Because you fly without getting the certificate to fly. Look they do a big business. You need to get certificate for your drone then you pay them, then you can fly on your backyard. What a huges business they do. Very stupid.

Hi there. Thank you for bringing this up. For a better flight experience, it is recommended to update your product firmware to the latest version and comply with local regulations. Based on your comment, it seems that your aircraft has crashed. Please check whether the appearance and performance of the aircraft are still good. If necessary, you could send it back to us for a comprehensive check to ensure your future use.
