When the hall was built in 1646 ( the date can be seen on the lintel above the door) it was the only stone building in the area, and most of the surrounding hillsides would have been green moorland pasture and possibly, wooded slopes.  There may have been a few wooden huts dotted about the landscape, but this lonely structure would have dominated the immediate area, from its hilltop location.  Not so today.  The 360Pano, taken with the Mini3Pro, reveals just how large the village of Hadfield has become.

Interesting place. Been inside? Nice bird in the 360. had to zoom in to make sure you weren’t getting in trouble with a heli…

What a quaint little building,   and the half cars are a nice effect.

It's a private house Depp.  I used to live a couple of hundred metres down the hill from there, from 1980 until 2006.  And it was definitely a bird in the picture

Well, each of my daughters still lives close by.  So it was during a family visit.

The house I grew up in for the first 4 years of my life is about 8 miles away and last time I went past there I had to have a little look,  whats funny is that when my parents had that house they got some grants to do it up,  and at the time my dad made replacement windows for it,  and those windows are still there today.

I think the materials back then were better too.  You can certainly see the difference in the timbers `ive removed from my 1030's house compared to new timber.

Our first house when we got married was a 1930's semi, but what was referred to back then as jerry-built. Thrown up between the wars, in the Greater Manchester area.  The build quality there was pretty poor.

Amazing 360 Mr. B.    The hall has some interesting things about it.  For instance all the windows are so narrow but it has no cover over the entry door.  I do like all the brickwork though.

It looks good for its age, doesn't it.  Building styles have really changed though, over the centuries.

Im told mine was used as a billet house during the war,  and a little down the hill there was a big military camp which is now a housing estate.    I did find some pictures of my house from the VJ Day celebrations,  and recently found a 1940's shot of it from the sky and was amazed to see the garden was like a forest.

Things do change dramatically over time. I find it hard to imagine this solitary house on the hill, with nothing but rolling countryside around it, all those years ago. Particularly as it's bang in the centre of a busy village now.

My mum had a friend that lived in an old milk barn,  over the years as the area got built up it ended up with houses all around it but they faced the opposite direction.   It was funny as you'd walk down the pavement and being guided to her front gate as the pavement stopped there.   She knew everyone because of that.

It's been pretty warm and sunny for a week or more. But the humidity is rising now and making the evenings unpleasant.

I can commiserate with you on the humidity.  The heat is one thing but mix in the humidity and it becomes almost unbearable at times.
