That would be hard graft. This temporary surface had to be heavy duty enough to withstand the caterpillar tracks of a mechanical digger.

This is the one that setup locally to dig out the dyke where the culvert diverts to off the railway tracks.

Yes, exactly the same principle.  I couldn't get any lower for this shot for the electricity cables under the drone. You can just see one, bottom right.

Almost certainly, I would say. Those sections would be far too heavy for manual lifting.

When I saw them clearing it the sections had already been loaded so the machine must have been the first thing to leave.

They work fast then,  unlike the men doing the new fences for the railway,   Ive never seen people go so slow.
