Sure does. Most likely forever more too.
If I remember correctly, the University of Texas got it when the owner's wife passed away.

Yes it is, a matter of fact, that is one of the the nation-wide railroads. With a few switches of course. From Los Angeles to Jacksonville, North Carolina (Yuma Arizona is outside of LA in the same line) So it is basically Military Base (Pendelton) to military base (LeJeune). During the war in Kuait, Trains transported military gear from west to east on those tracks. And once it was over, from east to west.
And on top of that, I chased this train on the same tracks from Pecos River near Del Rio:
