Hello, this weekend I took a flight and the drone suddenly began landing automatically. I could stop this action to press the red button on the left on my screen with stop landing. But it began landing again. It was very misty that morning so I want to capture that with the windmill on the background.
I restarted the drone and RC and tried it again but after a few minutes the drone began landing again. I was near water so it was a bad situation. I was able to override the landing by going up and flying to my homepoint.Dure the flight I could not go down with the RC. When I pushed the stick down the drone didn't react.

In the screen a got a Altitude error. The next day was a sunny day and took a test flight again. Everything was normal and the drone never landed by itself.

Was the dense fog the case??
Can someone say something about this??

Here the flight record.

Thanks!

Robin

Can you also post the log from the second flight, the one where " I was able to override the landing by going up and flying to my homepoint.Dure the flight I could not go down with the RC. When I pushed the stick down the drone didn't react." please?

Hi Robin,

Typical "error" when flying in Fog.

When the IR height sensor measures True or False (sensor wet, foggy weather) height of 0.5 meter and RC stick down for short monent, a forcedlanding/autolanding is initiated.Quick way to cancel this autolanding = UP stick for short moment.
It is the same what is done with a normal landing ; hovering at 0.5 meter above the ground, 100% stick down and craft will autoland.

See my chart of your data.
Flying at baro height 13.1 meter + False reading IR height of 0.5 + 100% stick down = Autolanding.

See chart 2 ; Green bold line is meaured height by iR sensor, compare this to the baro height blue line.
See RC down input wich, at IR height 0.5, switching flightmode to landing.

Would be nice (DJI action!) to disable this when flying baro height > x height. Why would a drone pilot wants to autoland a drone flying at 50 meter or so ?  (or 15 or 100 meter)It only needs a YES|NO prompt to show "Really want to autoland?"

cheers

I still think it would be interesting to see the log of a flight where a drone would not descend, possibly due to fog etc.
But thanks either way.

So a log of the flight the next day in sunshine without the fog?

Hi Robin,

Can you remember for this flight how first autolanding was stopped by you ?
Not by UP stick, but how ?

Yes, I ran to the landing place and landed it by hand.

Hi,

Yes, for the second one grabbed out of the sky  ;-)

ok, then the second with hand and the first was the auto landing on the roof of my boat ;-)
I only could go left and right with the RC so it was tricky but lucky near the boat.

thx

uh, autolanding on the roof of your boat. But than the drone normally stops the motors, not in your log. IR height not measuring height, wich it should do at landing on a roof.
Just curious as the log does not show any data how the autolanding was cancelled.
So not a problem, just wants to find out if there is a new way of cancel autolanding.

Cheers

In the RC screen on the left there was a option to cancel the forced landing. I pressed that button a few times and tried to stear the drone back to the boat. I was a little in panic so far as I remember and it went down on it's own on the roof of the boat. When the drone was going down I had no control other then left and right.
