Urgent Help Needed| DJI Air 2S Gimbal Issues - Horizontal not level

Hi,

I am having an issue with my DJI Air 2S Gimbal. Once the aircraft is turned on, it is normal. The horizontal is leveled. Then, the gimbal becomes not level, as you can see in the picture and video.

I have not had a crash and it was fine when I flew it a few months back. I took it out today to test it and there is this is this issue now. I am currently living in Kenya and there is no DJI centre where I can send it for diagnosis. I have run the compass, IMU and gimbal calibration multiple times but doesn't seem to fix anything. I also have tried running the DJI Assistant to refresh the firmware but no luck either.


I have to film something tomorrow and now this is giving me a headache. Has anyone had similar issues and managed to fix it?

Have you tried to move it while off and feel for anything unusual? Maybe give it a gentle nudge while turned on.

Can you please try to remove the SD card on your drone if any then try to perform the gimbal calibration to see if the issue persists? You may also check if there is any debris on the gimbal and clean it if any. If the issue persists, I'm afraid that you may consider sending the unit in for a proper diagnosis. If the gimbal calibration does not solve you issue, I suggest to open a support ticket.

Hi,

Some updates:

I actually found a DJI service center here in Nairobi and went there to run the diagnostics. The technician told me that it is most likely the issue with gimbal motors. So the hardware issues. I told them I will come back since the replacement cost is quite high.

Out of desperation and curiosity, I tried calibrating the gimbal with my PC following the method of this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qQ7MFSNP_W8

And guess what, the gimbal is functioning again. I noticed that the gimbal goes back to crooked when I run auto calibration with the app. Also I get the error message (Code: 40011) 'gimbal calibration error. Restart aircraft or contact DJI support if the issue persists.'

What would be the most likely issues here? Perhaps this is not the hardware issue?

Just wondering if it is possible for you to consult a technician on your side on his/her opinion? The technician here told me that this was a hardware issue...but I am assuming it may not be. Thanks a lot!
