I'm really new to the drone world. I bought a new to me Phantom 3 Advance. I met a fellow in a public place and upon my arrival, he lifted it up to about 6 feet and then landed it. So it works, I'm happy.
When I got home I charged all the batteries and installed DJI GO on my laptop. This is where everything has started going downhill.
When I power up the aircraft and the controller and open DJI GO the only option I receive is "learn how to connect" the phantom, not to actually connect.
I have found a lot of posts about this but no real solution.
I've tried several USB cables, uninstalled the app reinstalled the app but nothing gets me past the learn how to connect screen. I think the app isn't recognizing that there is a Phantom attached to it.
I'm using Apple devices.
Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Rick

Hi there. As electronic products are affected by technological developments and changes in usage requirements, each generation of products has a fixed life cycle. In order to continuously provide you with premium product and service experiences, DJI regularly optimizes resource allocations to promote the development and application of new products and technologies. Therefore, we have decided to stop providing support services for the Phantom 3 Series and its accessories starting on January 5, 2023. We’re sorry that the services for this product have been suspended currently and relevant technical support and after-sales repair services cannot be provided. Your understanding is highly appreciated.

I believe the P3A will fly without the app.  Did the seller fly it without the app connected?  If so, he may have misled you and it never worked.  It may have some kind of problem.

There is a possibility there is a problem with your modern mobile device working with the old P3A which was released in 2015.  He may have had a compatible mobile device while you do not.

Have you read the P3A manual?  I would start there.

Good luck.

DJI Paladin, your reply has to be one if not the worst company-to-customer replies I’ve ever heard of.
Please allow me to explain.
You stated, “As electronic products are affected by technological developments and changes in usage requirements, each generation of products has a fixed life cycle”.
While this may be corrected as stated. I have read many many requests to DJI with the same issues as I am having requesting a fix. These complaints started in 2015-16.
The AC was new then and had not reached its fixed life cycle.
Several of your customers have expressed to DJI they felt like they had a paperweight with blinking lights expensive bookend, etc. I feel you get the point.
Will DJI just inform their customers we may or may not stand behind our products?
I will never recommend your product and truly wish others would follow my lead.
I wonder how many of your US customers realize the US DOD has blacklisted DJI. Wonder why?
I hope this is not the reason you’re refusing to correct this problem.

Regards,
Rick
