I used to shoot 1920 and 25 frames per second. now I shoot 4k and 3 fps which has helped a little with slower pans.

You can change the sensitivity of the controls, so you can move the sticks further without the movement being so big. THat helps too.
I think your footage will look better with very slow pans (moves in general).

No problem
Just make sure you stop in time. The 'backwards' motion also responds slower then.
