I think thats the sign that tells you were the train is going, whereas the other lights are head lights.

Seems a lot off people here go in early on Friday so they can get off early.  I think it goes back to the days on when you got a paycheck on Fridays.  With direct deposit that would no longer be the excuse to go in early and get off early.

With all the working from home we have here days its usually mid week for a busy station,   Fridays have been so quite of late the newsagent attached to the station doesn't even open.

Interesting that the news agent doesn't even open on Fridays.  Guessing it is not worth his time or efforts with only minimal commuters coming through.

I think the guy pops down and only opens if it seems busy enough for him to feel like it.   Its a bit of a shed affair.

Lots of companies such as Convenience Stores, Pharmacies, small grocery stores and weekly laborer jobs used to all get paid by the week.  Seems that only day laborers get paid less than bi-weekly now and they get paid in cash daily while regular workers get direct deposit every two weeks or some once a month (many teachers for example).  

Most stores now prefer the use of debit cards as it saves them processing fees when credit cards are use.  Better yet is the use of Apple Pay or Samsung Pay at most (not all) stores.

When I was stationed in the DC area I really felt sorry for the newspaper kids as they were out early and on snowy mornings they had an even harder job.  Wrap all the papers before heading out and then having to put them on the porch or door step vice in the yard added a lot of time to their morning run.
